I DONT have a verizon account and I dont owe them anything. Its not verizon!

On 03/20/09, 03/24/09 & 03/26/09 I recd calls from someone claiming to be from Verizon Wireless & stated that i was late on a payment; However, this was not true. According to my caller ID, the call originated from #949-286-3311. The caller, a female, knew the exact amount I owed on my account, but this amount is not due until April. I called a direct phonenumber to Verizon's Corporate Office and spoke to someone named Chris. I was told that both numbers (the 800&949#'s) were not valid numbers & he verified that my account was up-to-date. Now, I just ignore the calls.

I get a call twice a day from 800-249-2462 and sometimes other numbers claiming to be Verizon. When I ignore the call they send me a text message from 75763 telling me Verizon needs to speak with me in the next 24 hours. I am not the primary number on the account and they're not even calling the primary number! Wonder if anyone else is receiving these texts from that number?

Be very careful...I, too, have been getting calls from "Verizon" wanting money. I researched these calls and found out (after calling LOTS of Verizon people) that the money they said we owed was an activation fee that was supposed to have been waived. You all should know that cell phone companies don't report to Equifax, etc. when your bill is paid on time, only when they say you owe them money. I don't know how long this will take to get off our credit report, but I'm here to tell you Stay Away From Verizon, if at all possible. In this company, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, and it took me 2 weeks to clear this mess up.

It is run on an automated system that doesn't call the primary number. It calls in a numercual order you can set preferences on this if you like. Also if your bill is paid and you are receiving calls don't be an idiot politely call in and give them the number your receiving the calls on and they can remove it from possibly an incorrect acct. Surprise your probably not the first person to have your number. I work in financial Services.

I called that # and got "Thank you for calling Verizon Wireless" This kind of bill collecting (harassment) is typical of Verizon's customer no-service.

I work in financial service and care is a bunch of idiots. To make sure your safe rather than calling the number back call financial services to double check.

Most financial services are run out of call centers leased by Verizon. Meaning we are specifically Verizon wireless employees we are borrowed by them.

I get calls from this number every so often, same message everyone else got. Ironically, it almost always happens a few days after I make my payment. I do have a Verizon mobile account. The funny thing is, they leave the message on my home phone. I have never been contacted by Verizon on that number. They've always either sent a text message or left a voice message on my mobile number if my payment was late. The fact that this always seems to happen after a payment is made leads me to believe that whoever this is must have some inside information from Verizon. Verizon has verified that this is not them, but the timing has me wondering how they get their info.

I work for verizon wireless all you have to do is get the account holder to put you on as an authorized user. This is all done for the saftey of the account holder. Verizon is not the only company that does this.
