Social Security calling me back because I had a question about my account. Easier for them to call back than wait on the line.

I have received 8 calls in the last hour and a half from 800-772-1213. I am home sick today and this is annoying. I did not answer any of the calls, but they did leave a recorded message. I called my local SS office and they could not find anything on me or why someone was even calling me. It's just another annoying scam!

I called this number to get information about social security.

They called me back 10 minutes later, i gave them mi social but never heard 4rm them

Not sure about "Medicaid", but I can tell you the Medicare does indeed use the Social Security number. I'm going through a Medicare problem at the moment. Who to call? Social Security, of course! If you look at SSA's website and "How to Contact" page, it has the number 800-772-1213. Dial it and one option will ask you if your call is about Medicare

Of course, Medicare also has it's own toll free number 1-800-633-4227

I got the call on 5 Sep and a message was left requesting call back at 855-249-4175 EXT 4015051. Called back and unwittingly left my name and SSN and call back number. Got no return call. Stepped into that one, big time.

Stolen phones from anyone

This is a telemarketer posing as Social Security. Do not give them any personal info. They are hoping to get your Soc Sec # (or they already have it) and other vital info. This is NOT the SSA, even though the phone number that shows up on your Caller ID is the real SSA 800 line. It is "spoofed." Do not cooperate. Do not even answer. Any info you give can easily be used to steal your identity.
