Received a call on my cell phone from 800-772-1213. I clicked the phone but I did not say anything. A male voice asked for "xxxx" a female who lives at my home, and immediately hung up without allowing time for a response. I googled the number to see it is social security disability. Makes not sense. Must be spoofed.
Was expecting SS to call but the number showed up and all they said was "What?" Then "you called me WHAT do you want?" They would not say who was calling and I did not give my name
We rec'd TWO phone calls (voice mailbox) saying within minutes of each other "This is the Social Security Administration,we are following up on a recent sent to your home"BULL PUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEVER rec'd any letters PLUS we are unable to receive SSA benefits for years to come!I SAY $CAMMER%!!!!!!
The number is a scam, it may possibly be associated to social security, but there is a scam associated with it. People are getting ridiculous calls about their benefits and if they get a call and won't give them information they give you this number. If you follow their directives and give them information you will be ripped off. They tried to transfer my friends SSI from her bank account to another, but she would not divulge the information. When she went to Social Security, they had no idea what she was talking about. She left a friend at her home in case it was a scam to get her out of the house, and someone was parked in front of her home for a while, however, she does live in a busy suburban area so they were unable to ascertain whether it was a coincident or part of the scam. BEWARE, don't tell them any of your personal info. Call a different number associated to your benefits, one from real correspondence you have received from SSI.
Yes, that number is for Social Security BUT BUT BUT when you answer it, it's Portfolio Recovery Associates calling. They have dummied the caller ID system. I am reporting it to SSA
