Received many calls from this number under Visa Credit Card Services. They say in the prerecorded message that I may be eligible for reduced interest rate. If I did not respond to a live rep. my card would be cancelled. Preeed #1 and spoke to a live rep with an Indian accent and requested my name be removed from the list. Also placed a block on this number.
Called me 3 times this morning back to back! I was driving so didn't answer at first, but they continued to call which worried me it may actually be something important, and the guy on the other end said he was with some credit card service company to lower my interest rate. I had spoken with him yesterday, but he called from 951-833-6438 (I only answered because I got a new phone and not all of my contacts transferred.) Yesterday he said he could lower my rate on my VISA and Mastercard, I told him I only had VISA cards and he asked for the expiration date of my card so he could match it to his records. I told him I have 4 Chase VISA cards so he needed to be more specific... I gave him 1 expiration that was legit and he said it didn't match so I told him nevermind I have to go.
This is a scam do not give any information to these parties this is a scam party requesting to marry wtf
Called my cell. ID information blocked. A male with a thick middle-eastern accent claimed to be with Visa. He wanted to give me a lower interest rate on my credit card. I do not have a Visa card. He abruptly hung up when I asked him where he was calling from. SCAM!
They did call back. The eastern Indian fellow said "hello, how are you doing?"I answered "hey there. what are you up to today?"He then immediately hung up the phone. This swindler is spoofing the Chase credit card phone number, trying to fool the people they call. Apparently, they are screening their marks very carefully and will simply hang up the phone if you ask any question or say anything that's not consistent with the script that they intend to lead you through.
I received a voicemail asking for a call back to 1.800.945.2000 and saying that there had been suspicious activity on my "JP Morgan credit card account". I don't have a credit card with Chase. I called the number back and the first thing that the woman who answered asked me for was my SSN. I did not give it to her, and she transferred me to the "fraud department" where a male asked what phone number had been called. I gave him that number and he confirmed that no accounts were tied to that number.I then looked up Chase's fraud reporting number online, and called it. Chase confirmed that neither the 1.800.945.2000 number nor the number that showed up on my caller ID (614.776.7070) were actual Chase numbers. I can only guess why there are people in this chain claiming that the number is valid, but if you have any doubt that this is a fraud, look up Chase's number and call them yourself. They will confirm that these calls are not coming from or going to Chase.
