recived call - saying it was ATT and there were concerns about my account. I dont have att, I dont have cingular, I dont have any relations, connections etc with them. This is an attempt to get your personal information likely to steal your identity, ironically this call came 3 minutes after a call from the "United States Armed Services Association." from 877 202 9821 which was a crock of "BS" too - SCAMS -

No, it's not Cingular--or any legitimate company. It's scam that works by bullying and threatening folks who do not know their rights.I received a call today on my cell phone, but I'm with AT&T, so the Cingular scam was laughable, Even more amazing: she wouldn't give up. "Ma'am, my records show that there is an outstanding debt..." So I asked her what the account number was---and of course she couldn't answer. Said she needed to put me on hold to "look that up" (?!?! calling someone about their account but you don't have the number?"...and then the line cut out.

My Cingular bill is due the 25th of every month but they give us until the 5th of the following month before it is late. I usually pay it around the 3rd or so and I have never been late. They shouldn't offer the Delinquent By date if they don't want you to pay after the original due date. They call every one of my phones too, I have 3 cell phones and they started calling my house. It is so annoying.

Yeah, I went through the same rigamarole as everyone else when I had my wireless service through Cingular. TracFone rocks!!

I called the regular "contact us by phone" ATT number and they confirmed that 1-800-947-5096 is their collections / account receivable department. "At least one of them," he said. The first time I called the number I got a commercial about sex however. That's why I contacted ATT. Did I dial one digit wrong? I'll let my wife deal with this one; it's her cell phone payment they're after.

I received a call from that number (800-947-5096.) It was ATT. They left a standard voice mail message, requesting a call back to remind me about my overdue wireless bill. No worries, I paid it.
