The call is definetly from Cingular (AT&T) it's just a reminder that your account is past due. They don't harass you unless you're late.
Hey people I've been talking to Att 1866 number thats listed and they dont have a list of of this number. I did get a hold of someone using the 800 947 5096 number. It got transfer to canada somehow and they were able to look up my old account that I had two years go. The lady told me that this number is for accounts but that both my accounts have zero balance so she doesn't know why they might be calling. The lady at the 866 ATT number told me it might be sales trying to sell you a plan again..
I've had two calls from this number in the last two days. This is my first month with AT&T and the bill is due NEXT week so why are they harassing me? Verizon is a much better service and I NEVER had this problem with them but I switched because AT&T has better phones. This is really starting to piss me off and I may pay the $175 contract termination fee and toss my two brand new AT&T Tilt phones just because of this. It isn't about the money, I'm sick of this B.S.
Yep! I'm getting these calls also. When I call the number back I get AT&T. I have to assume that AT&T is making these calls. I didn't use AT&T until recently. My wife and I got cell phones sometime in November from them. I'm beginning to think this was a BIG MISTAKE! In any event, I am not behind in my payments to them and the recording only says they have "important information" about my account. I sure hope someone gets to the bottom of this and gets these calls stopped.
1. I don't have service with AT&T Wireless.2. My cell is a company-provided NEXTEL phone for crying-out-loud!This is thes second time they've started calling, and calling every day.First time was at 7am on a Sat. Called every day until I finally called the # and tried to get them to stop. No one had a clue why that number was being called (no surprise), then they tried to get some personal info (Asking for SS#). No way I was giving that out. This company really needs to get their [***] together.
