THIS IS THE REAL CAPITOL ONE. I told them I was busy and tey told me to call the number on the back of my card when I had a moment.

Unwanted calls to my cell phone number. I do not have a Capitol one account.

I saw this number on my caller ID. I looked the number up here which led me to Capital One. This 800-955-7070 number is listed on their website as their Customer Service number. After checking the status of my account online and seeing no issues, I called them. The representative explained that they were trying to contact me regarding "offers." I asked that they mail any information about offers to which she said she would note my account.

God I LOVE THIS CALLER ID MANAGER...I just checked it and this 800 number has called twice today...BOTH time (of course) "our" phone doesn't ring, but on their end it rings and rings and rings....You see, when the CALLER ID MANAGER identifies the incoming call as one that is blocked the call is routed to an open port, where you can choose you can connect an answering machine, but if you don't connect one (which we don't), the call just continues to ring (on their end) and your phone doesn't ring....What a GODSENT.....Keep calling...We'll keep blocking you!Life is goodBTW as most already know, this is a scam call..Don't believe the scammer's that post that this is legitimate (yes, they come here too).....BEWARE......

These people are relentless! They call continuously and don't leave a message. The problem I have NEVER dealt with Capital one. Why is this happening. I am on the do not call li8st.

People: You should answer if they call IN THIS CASE:This is a 'legitimate' Capital One call. They wanted to let me know that there are changes coming on February 2010 that will no longer allow me to go over my credit limit unless I tell them it is OK now. I told the guy, what will this feature cost me, he said nothing. So, I said OK. I ALSO told him that this is pertinent information, so when I get a call from this number about 10 times over the span of 2 days, it leads me to believe there is something wrong. In the future, you people need to leave a damn message. He said he would pass that one. Yeah, we'll see.Capital One is notorious for this. They call relentlessly & never leave a message. This is probably the only case where the message they are trying to get to me is valid. One time, I had a real problem with my account & instead of contacting me at the number they had on file, they looked my name up online & called my PARENTS house!!! "Hassle-Free" my [***].I'm seriously considering paying off my full balance & closing the card, ONLY for the reasons mentioned in this posting, & all things considered, that shows a huge amount of ridiculousness on the part of Capital One.Thanks,--J.

Got a call from 800-955-7070 didnt answerCame here and sounded fishy.Called the number back and it says "Thank you for calling capital one please say or enter your 16 digit account number" NOSo I hang up. I then call the number on the back of my card which is different. "Thank you for calling capital one Please say or enter your 16 digit account number" I know the phone number on my card is legit so I give them the number. I then get directed to an indian woman, She asks for my First and last name and the last for digits of my social. I give them to her and she asks me "What can I help you with?" So I ask her about my account and she tells me that everything is fine she reads me my account balance and that no flags are on the account. So I ask her why I was called? I give her the phone number and she says she has no calls on record made from that number to me! She said if they did call it was probably just telemarketing.Anyway moral of the story....If they call you and ask for that info right away I wouldnt give it out probably a Spoofed (Fake) number. Go ahead and call the number on your card and ask about your account. Im not really worried about fraud charges or people using my card because capital one makes it really easy to refute charges on your card. AS LONG AS YOU CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR CARD your gonna be ok. DONT CALL 800-955-7070!

I finally answered this call. They wanted to explain the federal legislation on credit cards that the president had signed. I told them I didn't have time. He asked when would be a good time and I told him there wasn't and hung up. Now I'm waiting to see if the other number calls me.

It's a legitimate number. I knew this from the start but thought I would reassure yall. I called the number back, and kept intentionally screwing up my card number until I could get a customer rep on the line. Capital one is just running a promotion and they are trying to call their customers. I verified the rest of my information, social and zip, and had her check my balance for me, it was correct, complete with the correct last 5 transactions that i requested. Sleep easy, it is indeed capital one.
