this is a scam!!! the number when called back says its for the irs. they have called me on this number, also 801-620-8924 and 801-620-5660.. please pass this no--the numbers are not safe. and after calling the irs. the aren't irs phones.
Claiming to be IRS. I called the IRS in Ogden ( the real one ) to see if that is a # they use. They do not. This is a scam. I did have some fun with the 801-605-1816 though. Told them I worked in Compliance and the call was being recorded. They hung up.
This number actually is the IRS, Ogden Utah office. The taxpayer advocate uses this location, believe they handle all w2 and w3 worksheets.
It's a call center for the irs, they call you from these numbers if you have called for any reason to speak with someone about your tax returns..
Yes, a woman called me to warn me I could be arrested for threats against the IRS for reason of petitioning the people to rise to violence against the illegal IRS she cited IRS title 26. She asked some questions I did not answer. She identified herself as a federal agent.
I received two calls from 8016051816 this morning. The first one left no message, the second one left detailed voice message and asked me to call back at another number. The calls actually came from the Taxpayer Advocate Service, which I was expecting today.I asked the staff, they said 8016051816 is just a number their call go outside, shared by many IRS departments. But when you want to call them, the another direct line will help you reach the exact person you want to talk. That's why she left another number in the voicemail.
This is an actual IRS number. It is a generic number used for all outgoing calls from the Ogden IRS office. It is NOT a scam. Please remember the IRS will never call demanding money or request personal bank account information over the phone. However, if you call into the service center or you send in any correspondence or return to the service center and additional information is needed to process that return or correspondence they may call you. Just remember when getting calls from people claiming to be IRS use caution. Listen to the questions first. If they start demanding money or personal bank account info you know it's a scam .... hang up and report it to TIGTA. If they call and they want to get clarification on a return or correspondence .... listen before hanging up. Don't assume it is always a scam. IRS does make calls when a taxpayer either calls in or sends a return or corresponce into the center first. The lady that called me had my correspondence in front of her. She provided me enough info that made me believe it was legit. I obtained her number directly from her, not the caller id. I told her I would call her back after I called the 1-800 toll free IRS number and verified she worked there and she was fine with that. When I called the toll free number I found on irs.gov I found out she truly worked there and had actually left notes in there system that I would be calling to verify. It turns out I forgot to include one page of my return. Sure enough I still had the page in my files. My mistake. So please use caution and don't always assume it's a scam. Because this number is a legit IRS number. It is just a genetic number used on all outgoing calls from the Ogden UT service center.
Number has called a few times but left a message today. A woman named Patricia was looking for a Martin and provided a 907 area code return number.
This really is the IRS. I thought it was a scam but I have been speaking with an IRS agent regarding my tax issues and she was the person leaving the message. She left me a message with her local contact number here in Los Angeles that is the number she gave me when I met with her. So phone number 801-605-1816 is a legit IRS number. I think it is a generic number that they use when they call out.
