what it says, but not what they do. I have had 4 in the last 15 years, so the rotating basis is bunk. I believe they select who they want to get them. The questions are intrusive. If you ignore it, they send people to your house that pound on your door as if they were trying to break in. They actually sent someone from their office in a major city to my house (100 mile round trip) everyday for 2 weeks. That woman literally stalked me until she could corner me and ask the questions. The last time I sent a certified letter telling them that they had all my information already since the IRS knows everything, and what they don't know the rest of the agencies do. Haven't heard from them since.

did not answer the call from this number at 11:30 AM on EASTER SUNDAY! A message was left to call them back at 866-208-6591 and gave a "case number" to refer to. I searched the U.S. Census Bureau web, under Surveys, and was able to verify that both of these numbers are legitimate Census Bureau numbers, but why are they calling on Easter Sunday???I did have a Census Bureau employee knock on my door a couple of weeks ago. He had proper credentials and wanted to ask survey questions for statistical purposes, which I did answer (at least most of them). He did say that I would be contacted again a few more times in the future to see if anything had changed (such as employment status).

I have this Number in my reject list. , but they keep calling me with a case # !! The person with vary unpleasant accent !!!

They sent mail from the post office..then hung info packets on the door with a ladys name saying census..this is at my elderly mothers house..been disabled for years..i told my mom to ignore them..but i called the number on the card they left and some old man answered he had no idea at first why i called him untill i explained..he said..o ya..my wife does that..shes not here at the moment and to call back later..well my mom ended up calling the lady and she came over and i guess did the survey..i wasn't there at the time and was pissed..well weeks later she gets a call from this number ON EASTER SUNDAY LATE AFTERNOON..and started asking my mom questions a took the qhone and told the lady a ear full..she kinda snooty said..o ill call back..after i told her about scams..this happened today so i did a reverse search and the number was unlisted..i got the number and called it and it was a census recording..anyone can fake that..well we wont be answering any more phone calls from them or answer any more questions..thats my story...

Called my office number, which forwards to my cell. The person claimed to be census, then hung up (very politely) when I told her the number she dialed was not my personal phone line.I don't know what to think of this. Why would a con artist hang up so fast because of a phone number mismatch?I'm not interested in taking their survey even if it is really from da gubment. At least you know where you stand with identity thieves.

Received a call from someone saying they are from the census bureau. They said the number to call back was: 800-681-3012. The number that actually called me was: 812-218-3144. They used case # 74257. I am not calling back.
