I keep getting call from this number stating that they are from the Census bureau. They ask me the same questions that I completed on the questionnaire. I just hang up. I will NEVER complete a Census form again.

I have been harassed by these people for about a year. They want to know everything about you. I have heard they are a survey, not census.

It is a scam. There is no Jeffersonville office listed in the real census.gov website.

Is this really the US Census?

i keep getting call since last 2 months average 2-3 times day, asking 8 mts survey ,its mendetary , even on weekend also i get friqvant call. if they have my address, e mail id why cant they send survey in e mail or my address. why oinly on phone that also mendetary

Just got a call from 812-2183-3144 on SUNDAY at 7:30 pm...Really !! They hung up on my answering device. Really.

I have gotten repeated calls from them, once they said they wanted to know how they were doing! I have come to decide this is some kind of phoney deal. The census is once every ten years so I was hesitant to answer the mailed part and now I ignore them and put the numbers they use on my reject list

# 1)I received a call from Sargent xxxxx (there was a real name), and that's what was on the caller ID. He said he was from our local Sherriff's office and gave me their correct street address. He proceeded to tell me my son had warrants out for his arrest, and I needed to go down to the Sherrifs Office to clear it up. I lost $4000 that day. #2) Next case. I received a call with the exact name of our local gas and electric utility, and their legitimate number to call them to pay bills, etc. It was actually a solar company, trying to look like they were really the real gas and electric company. I called them, and asked, and sure enough, the gas and electric company DOES NOT call homeowners about solar installation. They reported it as fraud, and they are investigating it, and were glad I called. They were aware that their real customer service number was illegally being used, and it showed up as the caller ID, AS IF it was the gas and electric company. Case #3) I got the American Community Survey in the mail. It is extensive and what I consider invasive. It's somewhere in a TO DO pile. Then I started receiving the calls from all these LEGITIMATE (looking) phone numbers with a caller ID of the CENSUS BUREAU. OK, people there is absolutely NO WAY to verify if this is a legitimate call, or a SPOOFED number from fraudulent people. They have called on Sundays. They have called at 8:55 at night. They have called from ALL 3 of the numbers that everyone here has identified as the Legitimate numbers for the Census Bureau. The fraudulent people are able to use the real, legitimate Caller ID numbers, and they are still FRAUDS!!! Look at my first 2 examples!!! Be wary. BE VERY WARY!!! I DON'T ANSWER ANY NUMBER THAT I DON'T RECOGNIZE. I do not have an answering machine, so they can't even verify that their call is being answered. Then I immediately Google the number and see if it comes up on this website! And nearly every time, it DOES! Thank goodness for this website! The crooks are very, VERY sophisticated these days. AND THEY USE LEGITIMATE, REAL NUMBERS ON CALLER ID! And they can be calling from India, but using a phone number that you identify is from your local area. You call it, and the number is NOT IN SERVICE! VERY SOPHISTICATED CRIMINALS!

Probably a scam. Submitted info online as well as in person to someone claiming to be Census worker (with official-looking badge) at door. Not answering these twits, too.
