I just had a call almost exactly like the one you describe. The man on the phone was rather rude, so I gave it right back to him adding that I don't appreciate being contacted on a Sunday. I also told him I find it hard to believe that a government agency would have people making these calls on a Sunday. He couldn't verify my address. The address he tried to give me was a RR address in a different town. He asked for my current address and I told him 'no thanks' and hung up. Sounds like some kind of scam to me.

I keep on getting those calls every day sometimes 2 tmes a day. They call @8pm. At nite. I don't care if they are the cenus,I will not answer their calls. I thought that if they are really the cenus they send you a letter with questions. I will not be talking to them on the phone especially not going to give out my ss number.

Phony calls . And they keep coming to my unpublished number. Tried to misdirect me to a website to confirm who they were. Told them to send an official Census Bureau letter to my home address and hung up. The calls keep coming. infuriating.

5/18/09 received a call from a rep named Lance he said he was from the Census Bureau.I had previously told a caller I wasn't interested in any survey. She said it was on purchasing for the household. And said if I didn't do it (an it wasn't mandatory) that they would keep calling my house until I did.When I told this rep( Lance) that I didn't want to do it and get me off the list..he said in a VERY RUDE voice.."WHY NOT..you use our currency don't you?!" I asked to speak to his supervisor..he said "NO! I TOLD YOU WHO I WAS!" I asked again..he once again said no..why did I need to speak to one..I told him because I think your call is a FRAUD! Then I hung up!Then I called back the number and it sounded like a fake recording and you could only call back the number that the rep gave you...SUSPICIOUS!!No one in the US Government would be allowed to talk to a person like that and keep their job...especially since conversations are recorded and can be verified!PLEASE BE CAREFUL with this...I have not heard anything on the news about these surveys and it sounds like a scam to me. I am calling the Census Bureau and reporting this incident!

They have called me for two weeks hang up on them, and call your phone com, block the call.
