Same experience as Jen. Received calls on all my lines today with same message to call an 800# that has he exact same comments as this line! Goes to shady voicemail that does not match original called. Called the real Chase on back of my card and they said this is not one of their #s and that chase calls would always come from an 800 line. Also said they had no alerts on my accounts.Recommend that you lie if they call you, get as much info on this scammer as you can, and then file complaint.
Within two days I have received calls from these numbers: 847-.426-9209 -- 847-488-6000 -- 847-783-7066There was no message so I didn't return their call.
This is definitely a Indian scam, these low life Indians moved on from anti virus scams on the internet to now calling people and trying to get peoples bank account info. I called back and had a Indian with a horrible accent and horrible English fluency and his name was supposedly Steven lmao like what f'n Indian is named Steven. Needless to say I sat on the phone with him for an hour and 20 mins just trolling him, when he found out I was trolling him he then continued on to curse me out like if I was the filthy Indian scam artist. I then waited 15 minutes and called again a trolled for another hour, I did this 3 times. I figured that while I'm trolling them I might take the time away from them contacting someone and scamming them. So yea, the moral is be careful out there and if you receive a call from this number don't give them any info. Also remember that a true bank caller will never ask for your account number, they will only ask for your card number.
This is in fact Chase Bank, and yes East Indian personnel are the agents. In this case, Chase has apparently bought Barclay's Bank and with it my Air Trans Credit Card. The card was in a low interest rate payout program set up by a 3rd party debt collector back in 2009. The card is now showing to be current and is no longer in a workout program. It is current and owned by Chase in their bank.
All these calls from 847-426-9209, etc. may be legit, but if they want to talk to me they can leave a message explaining why.
Getting callas from this number..Who is it?They don't identify themselves....I don't answer.
This was indeed Chase bank alerting me to unusual activity on my account. The message they left correctly identified the last four digits of my card and did identify fraudulent activity on my account. Pay attention to this call, check your account online, and if you're suspicious of the number like I was, call Chase with the phone number from the back of your credit card to discuss any possible unusual activity.
I think this must be a scam. I received a call on my cell phone. I don't even have a credit card or any kind of account with Chase.
Have been receiving calls from this number for a few days, but I never answered. They called early on Sat morning, so I decided to look up the number and call it back. Indeed, it says it's Chase Bank, and the voice prompter says to enter my account number or my social security number. I do not have any accounts with Chase bank, and I never have. I waited a long time (probably 5 minutes), while it kept asking me for this, over and over. Then, a guy with an Indian accent came on, and I hung up. I think this IS a scam. Here's why:1) Neither I nor my husband have any current or former accounts with Chase Bank. 2) They call too often, and at weird times of the day. 3) We have been victims of identity theft in the past, so I have educated myself about how these crooks get information. 4) I worked for a collection agency for years, and I know how they "trick" people into giving out their personal information. I checked all my credit bureaus to make sure there was no fraud, and there was not. I think this is a phishing scam. I *know*, because in the late 90s, when I worked in collections and people were much more trusting of phone calls then they are now, I could get people to give me: social security numbers, bank names and bank account numbers, etc. We used the information to legally place leins on property, but still-- I just think how people would give up this info. Anyway, please don't give these people any info. Pretty certain it's a scam. Thanks.
I called the Chase 800# to verify if this number is associated with their company. I was directly connected from Chase to this number directly to discuss my Chase Credit card. If you don't have an account with Chase, someone you know might have your number listed as the primary number on the account. They generally call because a payment is past due.
