Got this call from my local sheriff office warning about local criminal scams. It is a goodthing, but I get so many scam calls, I didn't answer - they did leave a message.
Got 4 calls within 4 hours on the same day with NO MESSAGE LEFT----are you sure this is an emergency alert????
Yep the temperature is close to snow flake weather & I get a call saying that the National Weather Service spotted a tornado "take cover now" lol then the same doorknob called our landline lol what a waste of money & time!
Once this "service" has your number you're a captive audience. They took mine from the registration of my boat in a town that is 30 miles away from my home. Now they call me regularly with what they feel are emergency notifications...today it was to warn me of the annual little league parade traffic (I kid you not). I have attempted to contact the owner of the number ("ECN Community") and the Town that pays them for the service (Rye, NY) and have not been able to get my name removed from the list.
I got 4 calls in a row from this number and it turned out to be the local sheriff's advising of a burn ban in the area.
its for community info - anywhere in the USA - ts called CODE red info line - for stuff happening in your town they want you to be aware of - each jurisdiction decides how to use it. I got the call because they're setting up emergency call notification system for employees.
This is a code red call from the county you live in. (ours was just testing severe weather sirens for several hours in the area) I assume if you are signed up at the county to receive alerts this is part of the alert system along with texts we usually get on Code Red alerts.
