I received a note on my door saying "For you a beautiful basket of fruit. Sorry we missed you." I'm certainly not sorry. Apparently, this is from a carpet cleaning company, trying to solicit business. They also have used 858-565-1451, and there are extensive comments under that number on this site.
They are all over the place because they hire a whole bunch of new people EVERY FEW DAYS!!! based on false advertisement! There was an ad on craigslist for CARPET SHAMPOOERS (San Diego) $2150/month promised in written agreement.Of course many people who are looking for employment will answer an ad like that just to find out after a few days of so called 'orientation' or 'paid training' that they will be independent salesman for kirby vacuums. During these 'meetings' or 'orientations' or 'trainings' or whatever these poor suckers are hyped up with the promise of becoming very rich and making tons of money in very short time, and reaching 'financial independece'!After a couple of days of orientation period they are all sent out with the little green notes about the fruit basket in different areas of the whole Southern California. Some are sent even further!Sometimes they are just sent out to knock on peoples doors door-to-door to offer a free carpet shampooing so they can show off the 'kirby complete home care system'. During this demo these poor pawns than have to use every sales tactic in the book to be able to sell it for as much as $2157 basic unit +$199 for the shampooing kit plus plus plus who knows what they can come up with! They only get payed if they can put on 60 demos in 30 days! But this is not clearly stated during the first orientation. This is a TOTAL SCAM put on by different distributors for the kirby. They must run many similar scam ads because there are many new 'trainees' every few days! Most of who leave after the first 'orientation'. Some stay a few days just to find out they have been working for free.Don't fall for these scams! These people are total SCAM ARTISTS and they will do anything until you give in and buy!Sorry for all those who thought they will get a free fruit basket! Some of them will end up with an expensive household equipment that they will rarely use.And truly sorry for those pawns that do all the footwork for free!Just google Best Company Promotions or kirby sales scams! They operate under many different names and numbers. They have an F rating on BBB.Best thing is to have a NO SOLICITORS sign, and if that doesn't work: a business end of a double barrel shotgun pointed at them through your mail slot in the door! :)Caller ID: 858-565-1451Caller: Best Company Promotions
I just got the fruit basket note on my door, too. Had the same thing several months ago.
I got a note on my door and we tryed calling it but it said please try again or ask your operator for help
There are in Santee. I was home all day and found this as I left the house. No one rang the doorbell or knocked. I call the number and it rang. No answer so i looked up the number on Google. Glad I did. This is a scam.
I got the note too.If this is the guy who has been cleaning carpets around here watch out for him. He dumps his waste tank out in the gutter by your neighbor. It is not only illegal, it is potentially sickening! Call the city and give them his license number, I did. He's unlicensed.
Got the notice on the door yesterday, Nov 3 in Santee. I've had it before so knew it was a scam from the start.. just thought I'd put in my 2cents worth again.. Do not call, recycle the slip of paper. Also, if they do put it in your mailbox... you should report to the USPS... it is illegal
I got the note, too. The number is constantly busy. Best Company Promotions is on the card. How deceptive. FTC should be involved.
i, too, got this same card on my door today. i called the company, and a woman answered the phone. she was annoyed with me when i started asking her questions about the company. i told her it was deceptive to advertise in this manner, and she, of course, disagreed. how unprofessional and sneaky!
