I retired from the LAW ENFORCEMENT & home most of the time. I was home all day yesterday, didn't hear the door knocking & found a note on my door, "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit - Sorry We Missed You - You may call for your fruit Monday thru Friday - Ref:# (5digits/3letters) - Kindly Phone: 858-565-6312". I called the # several times, it was constantly busy, called again around 2am this morning, there was no answering machine, it just kept on ringing. I got suspicious that's why I googled "Best Company Promotions", thanks for all the informations & warnings. I just remembered, yesterday I was in the garage (in the back of the house) doing laundry & on my way back in the house my screen door (backdoor) was wide open & my front door was unlocked. I just called my FRAUD Division & reported the incident. Oh and on the note, they removed "Restrictions may apply" & the "Time Frame".
"Sorry we missed you card" left on door from Best Company Promotions for a free fruit basket. I tracked it down to a Kirby Vacuum Dealer. They will wash a carpet from free as demo of the vacuum then just kick them to the curb! My husband was a Kirby salesman after he left the military and thinks this is just seedy!
I got the note today on my door however I was home when a white male, short blond hair, walked up on my door, never knocked, and put this paper on my door. My dogs alerted me to his presence. I saw him walk away, without anything in his hands excpet these green flyers. This is the 2nd time ive seen this on my door.
I, too, received this fruit basket card as well as did many of my neighbors. I have heard that this carpet cleaning company is VERY seedy and many of the houses they have come to have actually been robbed! Be careful!!! This is very shady!
We recvd same note in Santee today while my husband was home. When he called this #, a female answered with "hello", then became irritated when asked about a fruit basket. After getting the ref#, she gave a high speed sales pitch for carpet cleaning. As soon as he said we were in the middle of construction and had no carpets, she hung up abruptly without a word. BEWARE!!!
I got the note on my door yesterday, I have been out on disability for a month so I thought maybe one of my friends or clients maybe sent me a giftbasket of fruit, I called the # and it was busy so I just googled the Best Company and read all of this crap, thankfully!!! the weird part is the Kirby vacuum guys (3 of them) came to my house like 2 weeks ago, and because I was home on disability and board and had the time let them give me a demonstration,(i did'nt know it was going to take that long)and he said he would clean my carpet, they kinda weezeled their way in happened really fast, it was just 1 guy then when I said ok he said Ill be right back then about 5 min. later 2 different guys came and one stayed and did the demo. and the other one left saying he'd be back to pick him up??? I never saw the 1st guy again. Anyway the whole demonstration took like 1 1/2 hours, and I only have one carpet in my whole house its a runner in my hallway, I have hardwood floors!!! but this Kirby vacuum does a million things it was a pretty cool vacuum but like $2,000 dollars. I told them right up front that I was'nt going to buy it I did'nt have the money, the whole thing was freaking weird, my nephew was here with me the whole time and he thought it was too, like the guy called his boss around 3-4 times trying to work a deal for me and it was like so weird, like fake the way the guy was talking to his "supposed boss" we both looked at each other and cracked up and thought is he serious? anyway the guy came to pick him up and he left a # in case my husband wanted to buy it when he came home from work. It was a Kirby Vacuum so thats kinda weird that they would come back 2 weeks later and leave a note???
I got the note on my front door and I'm glad I googled the company name after whitepages.com said it was unlisted. It just seemed fishy to me and after reading everyone's comments, obviously it is. Thanks for the info.
I thought it was very strange that we rec'd this on a Sunday, but since my b-day was the following day I tried to call and 1st it just rang and rang and then it was repeatedly busy. Googled the # and found all fo you; thanks for the posts.
I just got a note on my doorstep saying I missed a beautiful basket of fruit, strange since I've been home all day.... tried several times to call and line was busy, decided to check on line and I am so glad I did! I do not want flaky strangers in my home!
A printed note is left on your door indicating you received a basket of fruit (people are in the house, so no attempt was made to gain attention). You believe it is from a reputable florist/gift company in reality when you call the number it is a sales gimmick. The BBB terminated accreditation some time ago.
