it was a note left on our door in Santee Ca

This is the second time I've received this deceptive note at my door ("For you a beautiful basket of fruit. You may call for your fruit until 8pm Monday through Saturday. Ref: # 63519 TWC" and it asks me to "Kindly phone 858-565-6312. Best Company Restrictions may apply"). The first time was several months ago.

Got the note on my door (Rancho Bernardo area). So glad that all of these people here have posted info. Saved me from calling them and getting sucked in. Of course, reading "Restrictions May Apply" made me suspicious and that is why I Googled the phone number.

Got the "fruit" note in santee today 11-11-09. googled it knowing that it was a scam.

I too received a note on our door (suspiciously not on our front door, but on a separate side door where the delivery person somehow got through a bolted side gate first) that said "For you a beautiful basket of fruit. You may call for your fruit until 8pm Monday through Saturday. Ref: # 63519 Kindly phone 858-565-6312. Best Company Restrictions may apply". When I called the number a woman answered who said they have been in business for 35 years, that they would be in my neighborhood at 1pm, 3pm or 6pm today and would like to bring me a fruit basket and clean my carpets for free. (Are you kidding me?? ... no thanks!) When I asked for their website so I could read about their company she repeated that they'd been in business for 35 years but didn't have a website. I said NO THANK YOU and asked to not be contacted again, she agreed. Very suspicious. When I tried to research them on the BBB I didn't come up with anything, but when I googled their phone number I was linked with this website which shows that many people have had the same fishy experience.

I found a note on my door - for a beautiful basket of fruit - I was home the whole time and didn't hear the door bell ring. I thought it was legitimate -- called the number -- heard only a message asking me to leave a message. Then I looked the phone number up online and saw these reports.

yeah they came by my house in Santee. I just looked up the number on the computer and boy i am glad i did.

Today, I got the suspicious note on my door telling me that I have a fruit basket they would like to deliver because the "Best Company" is trying to expand their business to San Diego. Then she went on to offer me FREE carpet cleaning too!?! What kind of legitimate business does this?! I think they just want to get into your house to scope out what type of valuables you have so they can rob you at a later date. Watch out!!

I got the same note. Tried calling and got a busy signal, but thanks for all the good information! I'll avoid at all costs...

Just got 2 of those notes. The first showed the Best Company Promotions at the bottom. On the 2nd note, the Best Company Promotions was cut so you couldn't see the name at all. Keep up this site. Very useful.
