We were home all day, I was playing piano when I thought I had seen a shadow on the wall indicating someone was outside. I stopped playing so I could hear the doorbell or a know nothing, I resumed playing. Later, I was going to let my dog out when I noticed a note on my security screen door. The note only said: "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit Sorry We Missed You. A simple photocopied green paper stating to "Kindly Phone: 858-565-6312. Be careful this must be a SCAM!!!! By the way they are now in Paradise Hills area code 92139.

Basket of fruit things are everywhere in Del Mar now. My grandpa frequently gets food sent from relatives, but luckily I live with him and googled the suspicious flier as we were both home all day today so we couldn't have missed them.

They are in Carlsbad now- these a-holes sure get around.

What a devious way to solicit business! No matter what their ultimate goal (carpet cleaning or casing a house or whatever) my anger extends to the fact that they couldn't care less who they "hit" with their fruit basket notices. There must be so many lonely people out there during this holiday season tho are falsely uplifted by the notice on their door and wonder who sent them the fruit basket ... until they phone the next day to be let down with the knowledge that it was all a misleading and underhanded scam! I wish I knew where to find these people so I could go give them my holiday wishes - and a piece of my mind! (They hit my street in Carlsbad yesterday, Nov. 24)

12-04-2009 Jefferson Street in Carlsbad. Trespasser placed the note on my screen door. Person entered through a closed gate to gain access, which is illegal.Neighbor has a locked gate, so the note was placed in the mailbox, which is also illegal.

This is the second time they've left that note at my house in Spring Valley. Once in September and again last week.

I just received a note on my door. The girl had knocked on my door and tipped the dogs off. She knocked even though I have a no solicitors sign up. I saw her, and she did not have a fruit basket, rather a clip board. She is between 18 and 22 years of age, and wearing a black hoodie/shirt, denim skirt, black tights and black lace-up boots. Long brown hair. Again, she did not have a fruit basket with her.

I've got the same note at the door, but this time they changed the fruit basket to Phone gift. I didn't call them, then later they knock the door and offering me the free carpet cleaning. I'm glad to say "No" since I found out this website and the phone gift company and the free carpet cleaning company is the same one. I don't want to waste of my time in the busy end of the year holiday for nothing.

We got a notice left at our door January 2nd - printed on a small orange piece of paper - from "PCS" saying "Notice: There is a Gift Waiting For You", "First Attempt", and telling us we should call (858) 565-6312 during certain hours Monday - Saturday. Like many of the other posters here, we were home all day, no one rang our bell, and we're not expecting any packages from family or friends. This is NOT an ethical way for a company to do business!
