I had the same happen to me "A beautiful basket of fruit" and called the number. It is some guys named Daniel!
Got the same note after being away from home for the day....am now worried it is more than a carpet cleaning scam...if so they will be in for a big surprise! Wish I had thought to goggle this before I called!!! BLOCK their Number!
The note "For you a beautiful basket of fruit sorry we missed you" was left my house today in Serra Mesa. Thanks for the heads up -- I really appreciate the warning.
This showed up on my door in Tierra Santa with the "fruit basket" gimick. Boy am I glad I checked this site.
They left the not on my door while my husband was sitting at the computer. Its a total scam why didnt they knock??
We received one of these notes today and I wanted to let everyone know something else about these people. Back earlier this year an elderly woman was kidnapped and assaulted by some of these "carpet cleaners" and when I saw their picture on the news it was the same people who had been in our neighborhood a couple of weeks prior, so they are not only annoying but possibly dangerous and they come into your home. The woman who was assaulted had had them in her home prior as well. So even though it is not the same people it is the same company and they are very dishonest as well as possibly dangerous. I recommend that you not only tell them no put possibly call the non emergency police line if they do not leave your neighborhood.
Got the "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit" yesterday. So my neighbors and I compared notes and ours were the same. My neighbor just saw some unusual people driving up our street; attempted to speak with them and they drove off in a hurry. So this crew is in Tierrasanta in the military housing as of tonight. We have reported it to our private security firm and am going to housing office tomorrow. Please beware, they will attempt to drop of the note in the evening and could be back to rob you soon after. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE and notify your friends and neighbors.
Got one of those "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit - Sorry We Missed You" pieces of paper in my security door today when I got home. I won't even call it a card since it's on such cheap paper. The fact that no company name is on the paper was my first clue this was a scam. Glad I decided to be extra sure and google the number.I live in Tierrasanta near the library so clearly they're making they way thru the community. Scum bags!
