Received a call from 1-860-540-6999. Indian accent. Said she was calling from PC Solutions. I'd just finished running all my weekly scans and no probs. She REALLY chose the wrong moment!! I said she'd chosen the wrong person and told her to quit, then I hung up. People less computer savvy could fall for this nonsense. They have to be stopped.
After a delay I heard what sounded like some kid singing in a foreign language. I let it roll until they hung up.
After saying hello 3x a foreign lady with a heavy accent asked me how I was. I replied "good" and she told me my computer had been compromised and I needed to go turn it on immediately . I repeated "what? My computer has been compromised?" to make sure I understood and she hung up on me...
Got a call from this number on my cell-- I was talking on the phone with my brother and didn't switch. Just looked it up on here, saw everyone else's experience and promptly added the number to my ever growing "block" list.
Got a call this afternoon from a "Leon" with a strong Indian accent. He said he was a certified Windows/Mac technician. I asked him "How's it going?" As this wasn't on his call script he said the phone was breaking up and he couldn't understand me. I said do you work with Microsoft? He said no I'm a certified technician. I told him I work in IT and I know who he is and what he's trying to do. Quickly hung up the call. I didn't have time to mess with him like I've done to these scammers in the past
Received a call on my cell (1/31/16, 845 AM CST) from heavy-accented person claiming to represent some form of tech support for "your computer." I asked which one, he answered, "your home computer." I asked which one he answered, "your windows computer." I asked which OS and he answered, "your windows 10 computer." So, either he was guessing, targeting Win10 OS or someone has hacked Dell's customer database. Just a guess on my part.
I received a call from this number at 8 AM today. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer, but it would've been amusing if I had. I don't even HAVE my computer right now. I've blocked the number.
I just got call by same guy from +8605406999 when I said I don't on a PC he had no clue what to say I was nices enough to say you a dumb [***] for trying to scam people
I just got the same call. I went along with him to see what he was wanting from me. Wanted me to enter this IP address in my windows explorer bar. 103.38.178.123. I asked him what server I was logging into and he told me it was LogMeIn. I told him I needed to ask my son who was a police sergeant to help me, and they hung up. If you Google who is (ip address) it show who owns this IP address and it is registered to a company in India. It gives you the a physical address if anyone wants to send something to them :) I work on computers every day so knew this was bogus immediately, but I can see where older unsuspecting people may fall for it unfortunately.
