He called telling me telling me he was from tech support and that I had downloaded some files to my computer he was going to remove them. He wanted me to click on the flag on the bottom left corner of the screen. When I old him I was on a Mac he told me to go [***] myself. When I asked who he worked for he wouldn't answer. When I told him I would contact the FBI about him for attempting to steal my information. He repeated go [***] yourself. He then said my god bless you and hung up.
I received a call from this number while I was at work. He said he was from Dell and that there were issues with my laptop. When I asked what was wrong, he said he needed me to turn off my security protection. I asked him why I would want to do that, and he said he needed to correct the issues with my laptop. He wouldn't explain what the issues were. Don't know how he knew I had a Dell, but I told him that I was at work and my laptop was at home, so I couldn't access it. I told him he would have to call me back when I got home, after 8:00 and obviously he never did. Immediately after hanging up, I redialed the number and it was not a working number. This was bout 3 weeks ago. He just called back again, but when I answered, there was nobody there. SCAM !!!!

A man with a thick Indian accent called me from this number. Said something about me being entitled to something due to the fact that I was a Windows user. I hung up and blocked the number.
Heavy accented man saying he was from Microsoft. He demanded I turn on my computer. He was very persistent, so I ended up hanging up.
While most of us are savvy enough to avoid this kind of con, there are unfortunately many others that aren't and basically end up wresting control of their PC (and personal info) to these scumbags. I have over 30 years of computer experience myself, and haven't had any security issues that come out of nowhere that would warrant these random phone calls from so-called technicians and "computer security companies."I saw on the news how these guys function, how many people are falling for the latest scam. It's like the high-tech version of these lottery/sweepstakes scam, but with a twist. Since most users only know computers for the graphical operating systems, these con artists use things like DOS or command line screens to make it appear there is far more going on with the person's computer than there really is.
I answered and at first did not hear anything, then a woman started speaking with a very heavy Indian accent. She said it was regarding my computer and she was calling from Geek Squad. I tried to clarify with her but it sounded like she was having a side conversation with someone in her language and then she just hung up.
