Foreign person from "Geek Support" said he was calling about a work order for my computer. I told him that I didn't have one and for him to take the number off of the call list, and he said that I did. He said that he knew I was getting error messages. I said that I wasn't, and that I knew he was a scam and that he needed to take the number off of their list or I was reporting them to the authorities. He then hung up

Submitted an online order with Best Buy and setup text notifications regarding all aspects of my order until received. Directly after submitting this order, received a phone call from this number. Best Buy should put steps in place to prevent this from happening to their customers who order from their website!!!!!!!

My agent was wonderful. I kept the person on the phone for a long time until he got upset and began using profanity and threats. I opened an OS shell and masqueraded as live browser. The individual responded that my computer had no files and no operating system, and asked how it was working. Implausible!

I really am tired of these scammers. This number (860-951-7532) called my cell at 10:35 am today (Sunday). I was outside, but would not have answered it even if I was inside by the table that my cell was on. By other posts, it sounds like the scammer was looking for gullible people to allow them into their computer. To those who might not know: Don't even fall for that! The scammer was most likely planning to take the computer "hostage" to blackmail and/or steal the computer owner's identity, credit card info, etc., etc. As for me, if I would answer such a call, I would be laughing at them because I am a techy and their spill just doesn't float with me.

I know no one in Connecticut....I have been receiving scam calls for several months, and have actually been a sorry victim. If you get a call from an area where you know no one, DON'T ANSWER IT....the scammers are clever and prey on trusting people....like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Received the call on my cell phone, indian / middle eastern sounding male. Told me he was with Geek Support. I asked him what he wanted and he said he needed to diagnose my computer because "the hackers" had installed a virus on the machine. I laughed and asked him how on earth could he know that. He then began reading my "ip address" (it was the wrong one of course). I told him I wasn't interested in anything he had to say or offer.

But just try and find out who they are.
