If you are one point short why don't you revise a lesson to gain the extra point? That is what I did.
that's what you wonder elyse? so its no longer good enough for you that they are hiring people, now you need to wonder for how long? ELYSE DARLING - you need to WONDER about more important things. What are your kids up to right now? Who else is your husband sleeping with? THOSE are the things you should be wondering about because they must be neglected from all the time you spend on this blog obsessed with HH.
i read your message thank u for enlightning me i need staging done why would i deal with people who are not repitable.I'd like to give a graduate or a former student a chance.
I'm a student, I've been very patient, I did quite well on my assigments found it quite simple and straight forward, my disappointment is with the revolving door of changes. I understand that companies grow and changes are made but the signee is bond by a specified set of Terms and Conditions, should the seller be allowed to make constant changes and revamp the program several times. I signed specifically for the one day in class and the opportunity to stage 5 homes with a professional. The reading material I found to be very generic, I don't feel I learned anything that I hadn't already been exposed to through HGTV and other staging books (that cost much less $29.95). There is no assistance in setting up your own business. I attended a tele class, only to find out they have only hired 4 stagers as of mid October 08, there were over 100 students in this tele class, they operate every few weeks. I don't want to be negative, but there are too many factors that lead me in that direction. I'm speaking with a lawyer to uncover my rights in requesting a refund of 100%. Terms and conditions should be contractual.
jonathan, the ads cant air on TV if they arent true. They must pass scrutiny with the tv stations lawyers, telecaster, advertising council, etc. you're just wrong and its annoying to read postings from uneducated red necks that cant read.
I'm also trying to research Haverhill's training and job promises to see if this is the company for me. I have read this blog and saw all of the negative - and positive - comments about Haverhill. I just moved to Colorado so I could go to school to be able to do something creative. My kid is now out of the house and I'm in my 40's. I too have been wanting to get into the interior decorating/staging business, saw Haverhill's ad on HGTV, and checked out their website extensively. At my age, I'd rather spend $1000 and 2-6 months taking the training, than to spend $16000 (or more) and 4 yrs for the associates degree to basically do the same thing. I'm not afraid of school or the work, I'd just rather start my '2nd career' in my 40's than in my 50's, for obvoius reasons!I spent about an hour on the phone with a guy named Rick asking lots of questions; the main one being "This sounds too good to be true - what's the catch?" I was told that if I take the course and pass, that I will be hired for $31.44/hr, just as the website says. I asked him last week if I could get references of people who currently work for them. He said yes, but I haven't heard from anyone yet. I checked the BBB for the USA, and they report 3 complaints within 3 yrs, 2 which were resolved. I couldn't find any listing in the eYellow Pages for Haverhill in Portland, which is suppose to be their US corporate office. Also, today I did a google search for their street address in Portland and it shows a real estate lawyer in that suite number. I know they're new to the US, but it seems funny that they can only be found online. Maybe all these 'references' are all too busy working since there aren't many employees yet to do the work?I'd like Rick or a Haverhill rep to respond to this!!!
you asked if there was anyone else didnt you? read what you wrote or shut your fat face. Fat FAce.
I took the course with the "employment guarantee". I completed the course with a score of 86. I was not offered full or part time employment rather a position as an Independent Contractor with no guarantee of hours nor compensation for business development or expenses. The cost of fingerprinting and the background check was to be refunded after 90 days of employment. But, not under the Independent Contractor position. The Welcome Kit states that you will be offered state yo will be offered a full or part time position or comparable or mutually agreed upon position. An Independent Contractor withno guaranteed hours is NOT comparable. I am told i do not qualify for a refund as they have met their contractual obligation--I think not. Anyone know a good attorney?
Thank you for your post Andrea. It's refreshing to hear something positive from a HH graduate and hired employee. As a current student I have some doubts. Knowing that they have hired someone who enjoys the job and has a positive professional attitude gives me hope!
You are absolutely right. I enrolled in this "course" in April, submitted everything on time, worked hard. waited 2.5 months. Nothing in return, no training, curriculum changed completely, dozens e-mails,zilch feedback.Wrote to Darren Morgenstern, the president. The same day got my marks deliberetly low and request to complete new assignments added while I was waiting.Illegal! They don't honour their previous obligations. New letter to Darren -the result: Money were refunded and I was dismissed from the program as the "person impossible to satisfy". Waste of time and humiliation. Darren also runs Ashley Madison Adultery agency for married couples to have affairs aside. Major disappointment.
