Mr Okada, While I agree that the telemarketing for the Haverhill "Institute" may be legitimate, the school itself raises red flags with me. The work load is exceptionally high coarsand the pay rate has dropped $5 an hour. The course workload is recommended to be completed in 20 hours. It took a hard-working freind of mine at least 150hrs and some personal expence to complete neary all the assignments. The expectation that one student can get 5 homeowners to have their homes completely re-staged is unreasonable. Add to that the fact that each of those homes was to have every conceivable room imaginable. So these facts give me pause to think that, simpy, the school collects the $1200 tuition and expects hardly anyone to complete the course. That seems clear to me. What do you say to that, Mr Okada.
No, it's not a scam. I am an employed Haverhill Home Stager and I have a fantastic job. I love it and I worked hard for it. Maybe others should do the same!
Just Wondering,You have presented some reasonable questions. I feel that there are several people who are not capable of passing this test due to various reasons, but you shouldn't need a College education to pass this course or any other. If that were the case it would be advertised as a post education course. It can be difficult as an adult to re-enter the world of study and test taking. In my case I am a College graduate. I have passed the Real Estate course and exam. I have several accrediations and certifications which have required me to study and take continuing education courses related to my career. I also have a background in Interior Design. Therefore I feel that I may have a better advantage than some of the other students but I have to be honest...some of these questions, specifically fill in the blank, stump me. Hopefully I will have studied enough and know the contents of the book well enough to pass the exam. As I have previously stated my experience thus far with anyone I have dealt with at Haverhill has been a positive experience. Personally I am not that interested in an offer of employment (it would be flattering but not my main objective). I am more put off by the unprofessional comments made by a hired haverhill employee nunaya and the fact that Haverhill is suing students who have made negative comments. Finally, I don't feel that I am smarted or better than any of these other students but do believe that there is some validity to several of the comments that made by other students. As I said earlier that rest is to be determined.
I am a HH stager as most of you know, I don't check assignments but I am busy staging. I am on my way out the door to do a presentation at a real estate agency right now. There are now over 30 HH stagers and more are being hired all the time.I love my job and I have Realtors and home owners who love my work.I don't hide who I am when I'm in here and as a result I take a lot of abuse from others in here. If you go to the HAverhill site and read the news releases you will see the names and press releases of the HH stagers. We have stgers tele conferences weekly and a few months ago there were only a few of us, now there are so many we don't get to speak all that much. It's really great and all the stagers that I've gotten to know are wonderful! I have made some really good friends through Haverhill.
My friend applied in Jan/08. Was really excited and they said she was great. helped stage 2 houses so far, for nothing. Supposedly has to do 3 more. It is now what.... end of aug? * months have passed. I'll let you know what happensbut I think they are B. S.'n her. Will keep you posted. Glad to here from anyone else who deals with them. Anyone out there who has gotten a job. Not jackie-please! Jay
Here is what Jacquline had to say regarding an employment with HaverHill:Post #11Jacqueline Forde (Toronto, ON) wrote7 hours agoWell, to date there are 5 employed stagers. All the elements are in place and in the early part of the New Year, there will be a "Hiring Blitz!" We just had a Stagers meeting and the New Year is gonna bring a lot of fantastic opportunities...so continue to work hard and keep producing fabulous work...don't forget to smile - cause attitude is everything! Put in what you want to get out of it!! Let's not let others negativity jeopardize or cloud your judgement and opportunity on a career that you worked hard on obtaining! Your actions and pursuits will result in your future!Stay Positive!
Hi Valerie, I read your blog and I recently got my certification fromHaverhill and I am warning you do not pursue anything with this co.your chances are slim getting employment you would have a greater chancein winning the lottery.
I am a student in the Haverhill course and I've completed my assignments, did my time in the in class and has done some field training with Jacqueline. I understand that it's a process that has to be done and after spending some time on the phone with Haverhill, I now realize that it's a rapidly growing company that is seriously trying to meet its demands! All these people who are calling this program a Scam, I'd have to disagree. After speaking with Jacqueline on one of our training days she also informed me that she found the course overwhelming with being on Maternity with 3 children, she also said that she had to wait some time but she waited and now is enjoying her employment. I just feel that, if I was seeking employment with another company that was offering such a great opportunity, I couldn’t see myself or any one for that matter calling the company and creating “not so nice” forms, after all we are seeking employment with them! I think I’m going to wait it out, I’m almost at the end, why give up now?! See you too at the finish line!
Jacqueline is just all over this board, isn't she?I thought she had so much work to do, what with the "growing demand"...
