i am so sorry you are also dealing with these people .you ask for help, no help, you call they are rude and no help. they change grades and do not grade fair. i feel your pain so sorry! i can't wait for this to be behind me and get my little piece of paper. i know there is no job that is how they set it up. i wish i would of found this web page before tis class.
Wow, guess I should have done some research before taking the course. Sounds like many others have done as I did - worked my butt off to complete the lessons only to get very criptic reasons for the scoring of the exercises and then to take a test that is designed to be difficult to finish in 2 hours. I retook the test and the 2nd time, I managed to finish it within 2 hours only because I had an idea what to expect and how to prepare, not to mention a timer to keep me going as quickly as possible. Still waiting for my final score. I am currently unemployed and was really hoping this would be my employment, but now I read that "It's a con" also requested an extension and now is ineligible for employment. Was your extension for more than 2 months for the exercises or for more than 6 months for the entire course? I was trying to tell myself that it is so difficult so they can weed out the best for employment, but I'm beginning to think it's designed to be difficult to get better than 80%. And I agree with some of the others regarding the test - you don't know what you missed, you just get a number out of 30 but the test is 55 questions and each question ranges from 1 to 10 points apiece. Also, the 10 pointers are at the end, so if you run out of time you are screwed. Well, I'm interviewing for another position but figured I'd still try to get this or get my money back. Now it looks like I may have wasted my time and my money. Live and learn.
KIMBERLY UKSIK was my supervisor and she was the least-bothered. never gave me anytime or replied on my emails or questions.
Thanks to all for the insight!!! I almost sent these people $1046 of my money!!!! Scam artists.... thanks again to all for their postings.Found it kind of strange that "Patty" called me less than 2 days after I spoke with her to see if I was going to enroll...a little pushy, no?
if they do not hire you can you always get your money back, or are there loop holes? (like not finishing the whole course within 6 months?) thats what they have said to me on employment.i wish i could get my money back now but i have put so much time and effort into this course.
I have also worked in marketing and training and have taken other legitimate online courses and was thinking the same thing - this is the worse course I've ever taken. The instructions are not expansive enough for the exercises and then they grade off for things that were never mentioned in the coursework. Also, the weight of each exercise is the same, but the work for each definitely is not. It's also difficult for me to get a 9 out of 10 and be told I did a great job - but no explanation why I got a 90%. What did I get marked off for? Not to mention, I didn't learn anything more from the course than I have from watching the staging shows on HGTV. I thought there would be more instruction on room layouts and color to expand my current knowledge, but no. Guess I'd have to take a design class for that... And the test, OMG, don't get me started on the test. Oh, and the mission statement - I went to Nightingale-Conant to get help with it and review examples. It basically created it for me with my input on content - it wasn't very long, but it was to the point - 6/10! It wasn't detailed enough... interesting because according to Nightingale-Conant it's not supposed to be an expository.Well, guess I'll wait for my grades and hope I at least get my money back...
Ladies and Gentlemen,I like you did the Haverhill Staging Programme. Fortunately, I actually enjoyed the experience - but did not expect to get employment as I do not live in the US. So I was just doing it to consolidate experience, and practice for what I can only term as my 'hobby'. After passing each part of the programme I was then awaiting my certificate and was quite suspicious to receive a bulletin that stated that 'certificates will be send later in the year ....blah, blah, blah. Strange I thought, because you only need card to print the things. This did not sound right. It was only recently that I went back on line to see that the site no longer exists and that in effect I had wasted my money - not necessarily my time - because I found it quite effective on a immediate level. So whatever I can do to retrieve my money, I am willing to support whatever venture to recover the funds. Although I am confused by the comments posted by Sheila Pigeau - please clarify whether there is a class action suit.
Wow, I'm sooo glad I found this message board! I saw the ad for Haverhill Institute in one of our local newspapers and was so excited. I went to the website, got some info, also spoke with "Patty" (same as above) and was about to enroll, however I decided to do a little more research before I hand over $1042!. I would love to be able to speak with anyone who has graduated from this program and has been hired from Haverhill. I've read that so far, they have hired 100% of their graduates. Also, Rick..is there some sort of info session i can go to to get more info in person? I live in the Vancouver area
