her name is shaimique I just had a conversation with her this evening as well but on the contraie to what yours was like for me she was very kind I had settle a debt with another companie but somehow the debt was never closed I have the closing settlement still and I explained that to her and she explained to me that I needed to get a hold of the company I settled with and have them send her the release of debt form through fax and make sure that they send me a copy as well she explained that sometimes the paper work gets all mixed up and it ends up being sent to another companie I read her what my paper stated and she said that the debt was settled just needed to send her the release and I will never hear from them again so that is what I did she was actually quite helpful and very kind. be polite to them and they are polite to you

Tried to make arrangements with my Canadian tire credit card which I did than it fell behind than I got papers from Joel Miskin lawyer saying her was going to put a mein against our home. Than cause I couldn't afford to make payments due to hard times right now. Next I got served with small claim court papers. Than I spoke to him he told me if I don't file papers he will get judgement against me. Than he would make a lower interest payment arrangement with me. For some reason he does not want me to answer the small claim court papers so he can get judgement. Has anyone else had this issue with him. I am uncertain as to what to do.

up to 3 calls a day plus mail asking for money... isn't it illegal to harrass people?? if i dont pay my debt is because I DONT HAVE THE MONEY and one time that I DID PAY IT IN FULL the collection service DID NOT take my debt out, My credit score still shows this previous one.

MJR is a very tricky company who employ very unethical tactics. Like the person mentioning the 'widowed-mother' above - they once tried me to go after my parents for what I would receive in their will when they die - then use that money to pay them. This is going back 8-years... but I vowed from that day I would never deal with these [***] again. As the fine folks on Dragon's Den said when someone tried to raise money for a debt-collection firm "You are the scum of the earth - get off our stage" (or something to that effect).Some people run from debts... others try to honour them but life is full of changes and sometimes (increasingly more these days) - life situations change drastically. People shouldn't assume others "just don't pay their debt" or are jobless, etc. without knowing that persons' individual situation.Try to get the last names of these MJR callers... most are young (non)professionals who don't even have the skill of using a phone (auto-dialers do it for them!). I bet they all have FaceCrack accounts. Find photos of them. Shame them publicly.But on top of it all - never identify or confirm ANY information to these yahoos... Even if you do owe a credit card company. If they can't confirm you by name, DOB, etc. - they cannot discuss the matter legally with you. You have no responsibility to answer ANYTHING they ask when they call. Stone wall them all the way and keep your SOL (Status of Limitations) clock ticking away (2-years in Ontario).
