dr jaun...you know that saying..there is a few bad apples in the bunch...when it comes to debt collectors there is a few good apples and i mean a FEW in the bunch..dr jaun I'm not defending the debtors who are working and decide not to pay because he wants to buy things,,I'm defending the people who lost there jobs or there pay was cut and there barely getting by.man goes to work and makes 800.00 a week,,,he gets laid off and now he gets 400.00 a week,he is getting about 1500.00 less a month,so this is why i say pay the rent/mortgage first and your utility bills and food the the collection company can wait and when you do go back to work and decide to pay the collectors you can get most of the interest charges deducted from your debt.dr jaun when you get laid off you will pay your rent over the charge cards.my words or messages is not abusive I'm trying to let the people know that most of these collection companies are low life's and sleazy, they will lie to you,use scare tactics and violate the federal law to get your monies because they only get paid 7.00 to 10.00 and hour and 15% of what they collect and there commission is way down in the dumps.PEOPLE...if you receive a 1099c tax form from a debt collection company you call the IRS and ask for a 982 tax form and prove your insolvent and the 1099c form will be wiped out
Is it at all conscionable that when a debt collector goes out of their way to genuinely work out an amicable arrangement to repay the debt, via settlement or monthly mayment that a debtor cant even bother to make a check good or guarantee that funds will be on a debit or credit card? What kind of lawlessness is this, have debtors reached a new low and shouldnt their behavior regarding funny money be dealt with? If you are going to take care of a bill thats behind, dont play the money isnt in my account when the agency goes to deposit it.This is a slap in the face and an extra burden on the debt collector. Most folks out there simply dont realise how debt collectors are compensated, and probably dont care but when checks bounce and credit cards decline then they cant make their goal and it financially affects their bottom line.If you make a bill and dont pay it then do what is right and give the agency good funds, not rubber funds and stop committing theft and deal with doing the just and moral thing. There are some really unintelligent folks in this country that dont have the foggiest idea of what goes on from day to day.Its one thing to be indebt its another to present non sufficient funds, that is a very very wrong and unethical thing to do besides being illegal.Lets clean up the system and stop being debtors that do bad stuff and pay our bills and make america the great country it should be.
You should refrain, once again from judging debt collectors and making remarks that they are sleazy, when they are doing their jobs.Yes there are a few bad apples as are there a few bad apples in anything. One need to look no further than Major league Baseball's steroid scandal,Yes? So please stop judging the industry as a whole.wE ALL NEED TO EARN A LIVING,and as long as it's done honestly and with integrity then all is well.By the same token, creditors expect to be remunerated and every effort should be made to do that or use the bankruptcy laws for relief, yes? So,lets call fair fair,ok?
Next to politicians, guess who are the biggest fabricators of the truth, yup you guesses it,lying, cheating debtors.Dont pay run and hide, dont answer the phone, dont return calls and do everything in the book except what they should be doing which is yup,you guessed it PAYING!!!!!.Pay up and stop using others money as if it were some free ride and an entitlement and a license to rip off the bank.Is it any wonder that dishonest debtors have this economy in the sad state thats its in?Unreal,Pay the damn debt and stop stealing, from everyone
Yes, you are correct that there are good debt collection companies. You are mistaken in saying the "few" bad apples, as this has become an "epidemic". I get calls from these people also (limited as they are), and am in debt only with 1 local place (which have arrangements made with them). These calls originate in the United States (where I DO NOT live), so are in NO WAY legitimate. Legitimate companies also would not act the way these people do (professionalism). Harassment is in no way professional, or for that matter legal.
I could use some help with dealing with this company. I've settled a 200.00 dollar misunderstanding in 2007. I've just started getting collection calls again from them. I'm thinking about going after them for deformation of character. Any suggestions on what I should do please?
"Scammy Debtors" - Ah, if only we paid debts on principle; I would suggest you don't pay your student loans back. It's obvious education failed you; you can't spell for crap. Wow! I've heard of many people who were married to someone who racked up debt behind their back. What about people with drug or gambling problems? People will find a way to hide their spending habits. My exes dad had a cocaine problem for years before his wife figured out there was a few thousand missing from their savings. My sister hides a huge shopping addiction from her husband. Maybe this woman didn't handle the finances during her previous marriage? Just maybe they had separate bank accounts? I work with a woman who has a separate bank account from her husband. How would she know if he was spending money from his unless he told her? People don't necessarily have tangible items when they spend money so to assume that she knew about her exe's debt is ridiculous.
If you get a call from these low life scum bags make sure you check into the debt you owe before forking over any money to them....Also check to be sure they are licensed by the state to conduct business.....They tried collecting a debt from me and they're not even licensed....Hey Sidney why don't you try doing business legally and stop being a low life scum bag!! Maybe we would pay the debt owed if you actually knew what you were talking about...ever think out that. Hears an idea for you get licensed and then call me!! Loser!
Cherylyn~ and I'll bet your 5 year old can spell better than these idiots too! LOL! I've dealt with unethical collectors but I have NEVER in my life seen this before! If these posts from Sydney and Mike etal are really from them; they've got some screw loose! Not only are they completely illiterate; how unprofessional does posting insults on a website look? OMG! I'm glad I don't have to deal with them; or should I say, they should be glad they don't have to deal with me! HAHA!
This is a sketchy company not to be handled with lightly. They are harassing and threatening liar who has no other means of getting people to pay their alleged debt than to lie to you and work you in circles. Sidney will tell you that if you don't agree to pay right away that he'll take you to court or mark your account down as refused without giving you the chance to dispute it. You have the legal right to dispute the debt and to verify the amount before paying....He will tell you that you can't and that he doesn't have to do anything or give you anything...He will even go as far as to tell you he didn't even need to call you to inform you of the amount owed...Get everything in writing first and my suggestion is to notify them in writing that they are not to call you anymore and that all communication needs to be done by mail, because talking him is like talking to a donkey. He has lied to me several times and each time I talk to him the dates and amounts change. The last time I checked sold dates and original amounts sold don't change....I could honestly go on forever about these low lifes, but I won't. From my experience the only answer that will satisfy him is you giving him a checking account or credit card number over the phone. If you get a call from them and your not 100% sure of the amount owed....Verify It!! I have no problem with paying a debt that was overlooked and owed, but I'm not about to fork over money to someone who I feel is lying and can't even get the facts straight.....
