Just recieved a call from this #, the guy wanted to know if I would be interested in looking at an investment opportunity in Gulf Coast oil. I told him I was on the Do Not Call List and that I wasn't interested. He wanted to confirm my address, which of course I refused. He was pretty insistent. I wished him luck and told him not to call again, then I hung up. I filed a complaint.
I keep receiving calls from this number and it's annoying...I hate it! I'm also on the "Do NOT call list"!
Due to the volume of unwanted solicitor calls I rarely answer and let the call go to message... this number never leaves a message (I used to answer and toy with the caller and waste their time and now I no patience for that).I googled 972-284-0600 and read the comments then looked up the company and found this information:Gulf Coast Western14160 Dallas Parkway #500Dallas, Texas 75254Voice 800-284-1782 | 972-284-0600Fax 972-284-0610Email: info@gulfcoastwestern.com
3rd call in a week. This time I answered. They asked for my husband. I asked who's calling. Josh from Gulf Coast Oil & Gas. Asked what this was regarding and again, he asked if my husband was available. No. He hung up. I called the company directly and asked what the call was all about. Recept. said it was probably a sales call from a referral they'd received. I told her they are going about drumming up new business the wrong way. On the do not call list.
I received a phone call today wanting to know if we would be interested in looking over a program to invest it. I have no idea where this man got my phone number.
Asked to speak to XXX XXXXX, said it was a personal business matter. That he could not leave information with me.
Same thing with me. Once they have a live number that answers the phone in English, they sell it to all their friends.
972-284-0600 just got a call asking for my boss. We get lots of crap calls. So,I always put on hold or tell them he isn't here.
I used to work for this company. Although I agree the CEO and other employees have personal moral shortcomings, this is a business and is run to make a profit. There are allot of complaints this is a scam. It's not a scam, but it it's very high risk. . The business model here is to contact accredited investors through initial phone contact. This is how the money is raised to drill oil wells, and with latest scientific research, to find producing reservoirs that should be profitable. Nothing is guaranteed, and you should only risk what you can lose. As for the constant calls, yes, they are aggressive and repetitive to the same number. The numbers are purchased from third parties which are supposed to be checked against the DNC list. This makes GCW not liable for numbers that are mistakenly calls on the list. Any complaints are fruitless against GCW. What you need to do is go after the companies that sell the lists. You somehow got on it, get yourself off them, no one else will. Start with companies that specialize in Accredited Investors. How to get off GCW call list permanently? Tell them the person passed away, that should stop the calls from GCW. Remember though, your still on other call lists. As for being a scam, or all other things that were said about this company, you are all wrong. Yes, repetitive calls are annoying. Yes, they have been sued by states trying to shut them down for securities violations, and all the states that tried were unsuccessful. This was not done without effort and alot of money spent by these states. These are general partnerships with active participation. Before you invest in anything, always do your due diligence. Blog posting like this is not due diligence, it's ranting with no subsidence. When someone cold calls you about an investment, dont discount it, it could be to your advantage The successful business relationship starts with a first contact, regardless how that contact is made. Energy investing is one of the most risky investments you can make. If you have the money, and can tolerate the risk, look into it. The problem is what I found out most can't, hence the reason for all these claims of scams, crooks, whatever. The wealthy, sophisticated, informed investor it's what GCW is looking for when calling, don't be mad because it's not you.
