Just received a recorded call from this number - said it was Social Security but reminding me that I can "qualify" for "Extra Help" with Medicare prescriptions by filling out the form previously mailed to me by the their office. Not sure if this is a legit number or not, and it is hard to tell from others who have received it what the truth is - I DID receive correspondence (and the form they left the message about) from the SSA back in early January, so it seemed like a follow up reminder to fill out the form and send it to SSA if I wanted to get qualified for "Extra Help" with prescriptions when I qualify for Medicare this year in May.
It is from the Social Security Administration !They called to remind me of my appointment the next.THIS IS NOT A SCAM.
People, DO NOT answer calls from this number and if you do answer a call from it, DO NOT press any button as all you'll be doing is confirming that they can reach you or someone at his number to continue harassing you with make believe appointment confirmations or whatever else they want to fraudulently convince you of. Remember, any "legitimate" caller will leave you an insightful message. Besides, did any of you really have an appointment with the Social Security department scheduled for the following day, NO!! I sure didn't when they called me and left no message earlier today. I have absolutely no reason to even have to visit the Social Security department. These are crooks phishing in their fraudulent attempts to sell you something, perhaps because they know you are of retirement age. I'm being deluged with fraudulent correspondences currently because I'm about to turn 65 and presumably you are too. DON'T BE FOOLED !!
You people have way too much time on your hands.Try doing something contructive. Instead of coming up with conspiracies.
This is a place to find out who is calling. If you know who is calling you and you know them to be sincere, then why post your message here???
No scam call. It WAS Social Security office reminding me of my appointment the next day. Never asked any information from me. It was a legitimate courtesy call.
I got a call from this number and it was not a ss call someone knew my name and was asking me perverted questions about letting them do dirty things to me.....It was harrassing and they were saying that they were a secret admirer and it was just nasty!!!!
I received four "failed" calls from this number. The phone did not ring, but showed as an incoming call.I called back and received a recording that this number was not in service.Ironically enough, I did have (and kept) a telephone interview with social security this morning.
