Holy Crap. I also got that too. 11:14Am. NO joke. But the thing is my Grandfather knew about an appointment tommorrow. I just happened today.
I received 2 calls from this number today within 15 minutes of each other. I didn't answer either call, nor did they leave any message. If they are asking for your name and social security number, it is a scam. The SSA would already have it.
This call was in Spanish to my cell phone I don't give my number out to anyone I don't know. HELLO I'm not Spanish!!! This is AMERICA SPEAK ENGLISH
It is the Social Security office, they do not ask for for SS# all they ask is if you received notification of your appointment or hearing.
I rev'd a call from 1 (972) 497-1400 today with a voice mail message that the call is a follow up to a letter I should have received recently from Social Security about extra help with prescription drug cost. It went on to say that "if you think you qualify, please fill out and return the application you received with the letter OR file online at www.socialsecurity.gov. If you have questions, call Social Security's toll free number at 1 (800) 772-1213."While the web address and toll free number mentioned in the message are legitimate, the caller id phone number only rings busy. Sounds sketchy.
Received 2 calls from this number to my cell phone. Tried to return the call and it said invalid number please redial it now. I didn't but when I got home I had 6 calls to my home. I do not have caller ID or *69 so I could not check it out. While home for a while and called my brother and talked with him. as soon as I hung up the phone rang. A woman was on the phone and said sorry wrong number. Said it without asking for someone or finding out who I was.
