It was the Social Security Office (972-497-1400) reminding me of my Appt. the next day. NOT A SCAM.

This # really is legit - I have an apptmt with social security tomorrow and it was a reminder & gave me the toll free # to call back if I needed to cancel, etc. It's a recording -- they don't ask for anything from you.
I received a call from this number today. My wife is dealing with social security at the moment about an issue, however, I do not have an appointment with them. It appears to be a scam, since they called my phone, and not my wifes phone. I did not answer the call, and no voice mail was left. I attempted to call the number back and all I am able to get is a busy signal. This may be a legit number, but i feel that someone else is using the number in an effort to steal personal information.
I received a call from this number on my cell phone. Unfortunately, nothing came in the caller ID except the phone number. I didn't answer in time, but after reviewing the comments on this site, I must say that I DO have an appointment with SSA tomorrow. Since I didn't answer, i am hoping that they call back so that I can confirm. AND regardless if this is a legit number or not. I would leave everything EXCEPT my SS#. If you leave your name and a phone #, that is enough info for them to call you back.
I just got the call and it was reminding me of my appointment on Monday. It is not a scam. Whatever number you gave the SS office during your initial phone interview they will call and remind you of your office appointment.
I got the same call today from American Voice; nothing; no message and I have no pending action with Social Security, etc.
A woman wanted to remind me of an appointment with Social Security Admin, on Monday at 9:30am. I did not make an appointment for myself or my husband so I called SSA to check on this. They did not know of any appointment and was going to pass this information on to management.
