As a supervisor at a rather large place of business I take great offense to someone calling me and being rude about someone else's debt. Like I said before, we are a rather large company and our employee's are not allowed to take personal calls. If we allowed this our phone lines would be tied up all day with personal calls and no "business" would get done.My beef isn't with the collection field itself...everyone has to have a job. But problem is with the manner in which they present themselves to others whom do not owe them money. If I were trying to get information on a potential debtor from someone other than them I would think that being rude would not be the way to get information. These collectors just need to accept the fact that many employers cannot put them through to an employee when they are at work because in many places this is policy. If they are told that the person they are looking for cannot take personal calls at work, then they should let it go. Because no matter how many times they call back, they are never going to get put through. What a waste of time management and money!

My son received a call from "Case Manager Ramirez" who was similarly rude and unprofessional (he saved the voice mail message). My son was apparently listed as a reference for someone else who took out a paday loan and they had his number for that reason and called him.I think part of the issue -- at least in Arizona -- is that our state just voted these businesses OUT and they will no longer be in business here after 2010. Methinks panic is setting in and they will try to do all they can to recover their losses. They are payday lenders and legal loan sharks. No more. No less.

This is Ace Cash Express, if you ever took out a payday loan and defaulted, they will call and harrass you several times a day! After repeatedly asking them to stop calling my work, they still continue to do so. They will not accept reasonable payment arrangements and demand full amount due immediately. If you don't have it, they just continue to call constantly. I have filed a complaint with the FTC at www.ftc.gov, they have an online complaint form, I would recommend to everyone to go and file a complaint there against Ace Cash Express if they continue their harrassing phone calls. They use the tactic of "working a case" number such and such to try and make people think it's an attorney's office or the police. They are ridiculous and somehow they don't realize, they can't take blood from a turnip! If one can hardly buy food for their families, their scare tactics aren't going to work!!

I just received a call from a Mr. Wills. From the very beginning of the conversation he was very rude, and saying things that weren't true. He tried telling me that I agreed to make "payments" to repay the loan, although I haven't received anythink in writing from them. He also threatened to contact my supervisor and HR to verify the physical address of my place of employment, which is illegal, all they can tell them is that I work here. They are not allowed to give out any information other than I do in fact work here. He claimed I have received several letters which I haven't. I hung up on him. When he calls back I am going to tell him to stop calling me. By law, since he is from the actual company and not from a outside collection agency, they have to stop calling for six months.

I've received numerous calls as well with the person stating that my name was listed by someone else when taking out a loan. They have my name wrong and the other person's name wrong. I have told them this at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks but they keep calling and insisting that I'm lying and to put "Silvia" on the phone. Obviously I avoid these calls now and let them talk to my voicemail.

It's about tact and diplomacy, smart one. Common decency is lost on bill collectors. They would have better luck collecting if they acted as decent human beings. Guaranteed.
