A call has come from 9898542368 regarding gov stimulus for credit card debt that I do not have. When I called back, it sounds like a fax machine. Would like this caller to cease. Don't know how they got my number.
Hang in there manI just pressed 1 to speak to someone, and asked they take me off the their list. Before I finished they hung up.
For a while I had fun pushing ! and asking the "telemarketer" what company I was speaking to. Almost a guaranteed hangup. A few times, though, including today, I've gotten a deep-voiced guy who--as soon as I mention the DNC list--gets abusive: e.g., "We'll call whoever we damn well please". I assume they're spoofing the call back # but there must be a way of shutting this operation down. Has anyone contacted any government agencies about setting up a sting so they can track down and prosecute these con artists?

Same number for me 989-854-2368. They never leave a message. Funny thing is this is my company cell phone and we did register it on the do not call list and it seems like the calls have increased. I am not so sure that thing really works.

This is a SCAM-Goes to voice mail and asks you to leave your SSN. The social security admin will never ask you to leave your SSN on a voice mail. Letter looks very official, but it's not.
