I received two calls from this number and a telemarketer representing Primus, offering a long distance package, was on the other end of the line. I usually don't answer calls with hidden IDs and ridiculous phone numbers, but this one was too good to pass up.
I have gotten calls from this number before but wasn't home to answer. I did answer one day (a month ago) to see who was calling. The caller sound from India with traffic noise in the background and other people talking their native language. They mention about problems with computer and they had my computer I.D. or some number from my computer. So I asked questions, like if he had all this info on me, who am I? He could answer. I told him he I don't deal with crooks! They give you the assumption that they are affillated with Microsoft. Today I got a call again. His name is Brian, and again, throwing Microsoft software name in his pitch. I asked him for his company's name and he said it was "Happy Software" out of Brooklyn, New York. I asked for a customer service or tech support number and he wouldn't give it to me because I wasn't a register customer. After 3 minutes he figure he wasn't getting anywhere with me because I kept asking questions. He hangs up on me. Yes, these people who call you are a bother, but I turn the table around and ask them questions. So I have fun with them. They waste my time so I'll waste their time. LoL! I need to think of another things to asked them or another scenario.
I received a call from 1-123-456-7896 when i picked up it was a man on the other end of the line. He asked me if I was Mr. Jacobs and I answered "yes what can I do for you?" He then told me that I was being charged with forgery and that I would be receiving a court summons in the mail. I asked what he was talking about and to please explain. He said that he would have the summons sent in the mail and that I would need to appear in court. This kinda freaked me out but I am not sure weather they were serious or not. the Caller ID said "Security Screen" when the phone rang. They also called my house at 1am... Everything seemed a little off and odd but it was enough to worry me as I was kinda freaked out that someone would call my house at 1am. If you would like to give me more information please send me an e-mail at "whodoyouthink51@yahoo.com" thank you.-Andrew
called several times in the last 2 days......my young daughter answered the phone and it was a man with an Indian type accent.....asked for my dead mother by name and then wanted to know if my daughter had the authority to make decisions over rhe phone ..he asked if my mother passed away and then asked my daughter what her name was. She didn't answer him and hung up.
Thought the area code was odd so I googled it tonight as 123 didn't ring any Canadian bells. No message was left though.
This is a company trying to gain access to your computer so they can install spyware on it. Once you have the spyware they give you a number to call to have it removed. This number leads right back to the people who installed the spyware in the first place and they charge you hundreds of dollars to remove it for you. It is a major scam. NEVER give anyone access to your computer unless you are absolutely sure they can be trusted.
These calls seem to be on the increase. I really wish they would stop. Any advice on how to stop them would be appreciated. Currently, we just don't answer.
I also got a call from 1 123 456-8790. Nothing else was stated in the CID. Then again why would there be? I just got the call today, but im familiar with it from past recieved calls. Much like most of them nothing was said` from their end. But all in all just remember if` you dont know for sure who is calling you, obviously dont give out your ID. Well even then be leary of ones calling to find out info. The # being hit over and over sometimes works but onces your on a phone mailing list your prime target for your phone number to be resold to other scummy ilegal companys. Be alert, that number was goggled by me also and found out that there are many so called businesses with that number making me to think it's an easy number to falseify. VOIP is an easy way to not only reuse the number, but also to get many different numbers for the same person. These numbers along with 888, 800, and other various numbers tend to be like a fly by business if you do get someone to talk on the other line today it will be cable company tomorrow it will be someone pretending to be your bank company, or credit card company. Some many pretend like there is misterious credit card usage on your credit card and probably will ask for your password to fix the issue. Fake, scam...once again be leary. if # dont work buy one of those call blocker equipment alot of them work better than your phone company's blocking program. There was a test done on them, and if your one that gets sick of crap calls early in the morning or anytime threw the day and night I suggest to invest a bit of money in one of those. and no im not a salesperson.
