Got two calls from these scammers today. The caller had a strong Indian accent and called me by name. I asked him to repeat who he was, could not work out the gobbledygook [***] even on a second hearing. Claimed he had detected CLSID issues with my computer, and that I'd downloaded malicious software, yeh [***]. He was keen to loging to my computer, don't think so. He kept going on despite what I said, and stated that I should remember him in a few days when my computer breaks down. Well computers breakdown all the time, I just reinstall windows and treat it as yet another day in computing. Sucks to you. These guys are scammers.
I hit the star button 7 times then the dial tone comes on. Apparently, dialing computers take this as a kick the number out. I got this call twice, once a week, the third week I did this and haven't gotten a call since.
123-456-7890, showed up on call display. My answering machine caught just a little (11 secs) of their recorded message before the program cut-off self activated. It said, "... Please press one on your phone to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rates or press the number three to discontinue notices, Thank you. ...".So there you have it. Something to do with Interest Rates. Maybe credit cards. Maybe phishing. Who knows. But definitely an unwanted, unsolicited phone call.Teddie (Montréal Canada)
two calls from these folks--I never answer "unknown caller" calls. Could have gotten into voice mail, but have no messages. I tried reporting these people on the gov. do not call list, but 123 is not a valid area code so the complaint cannot be filed on line.
They called me same moment, while I was giving control of my computer to McAfee technician guy, and I was scared to death...what coincidence...but I called McAfee, I needed assistance, is not, like somebody called me, offering to fix my computer, so I think I don't need to worry, but I do, after all this stories and scammers calling my phone daily.
I received a call from 123-456-7890 requesting that I boot up my computer for help - re slow boot ups. Not true. They also had all my personal information which I find problematic.Who are these people.
I was on the phone and decided not to answer another call that was trying to get through. Afterwards, I checked the call display on the phone and found this number. I tend to agree with some of the earlier comments about VOIP calls.
I just had a call from # 1234567890 and I didn't pick up. I was trying to call back, but the voice said to check the number.
