Received phone call on 1/5/2012 at 8:28 AM to a cell phone #. Didn't answer as I didn't recognize Number. Very annoying.

Yes. The statute of limitations is a time limit on action that can be taken against someone for something - in thie case, debt. There may be other limits on how long they can send you letters or contact you about it, and technically you always still owe it. But the statute of limitations is a time limit for how long you can be sued to recover the debt. It can be tricky, though - because the event that starts the timer running can vary, such as "from the date of first delinquency." Things like that can be reset if you make a payment, or caught up at any point, or in some states even promising to make a payment can change it. Be very careful. No need to help them out.

send it with a green card, registered or certified mail. keep the green card. file a claim against them in your local court - that green card (or proof of your letter's deliver) along with a copy of your phone record is enough to earn you $1,000 per violation. well worth the time and effort (which really is miminal).

Just got a call asking for me by my middle name, which I have no accounts listed in that name. It was 8:15 AM and on an unpublished cellular number I answered as I have a buddy in Birmingham, and the minute I heard a female voice ask for my middle name.. I said wrong number and hung up

I used to have a phone line a few years ago, it had this caller idenitfy thing, it answers before it rang thru to me. they had to reveal their caller ID or record who they are, or the call did not ring to the house even, on my cell I would forward the calls, people always commented on it being like Fort knox to reach me by phone. I Loved it. but that service was the old land line type, fios nor ATT have this kind of feature , some similar , but the other thing I could do is selective call blocking too so when the same caller tried again it just said calls from their number were not allowed.That was without a doubt the absolute solution to collection calls from bogus collection agencies that robo call all day long. I also felt quite safe, as I was living alone and no one could even tell if i was home or not.

Been calling me for yrs I jsut got a phone thru cable and have not even had it a month and now again..how do they find so fast?The reason they give is a bill form way long ago approx age is 10 yrs When trying to tell them one time I said the only time I had an acct with the company he mentioned was well over 10 yrs ago and it was paid He then began screaming at me The last call was early this am and when I asked who is calling she acted disgusted Well hello you are calling my cell at 8 am when I work nights I do have the right to ask I knew it was them so I just layed the phone down and went about my business.Thanks so much for the letter will use.

Called my cell, I didn't answer. I have an 800+ credit rating and no bad debts, no need to be calling me. I'm sure it's a robo-call phishing scam.
