Received a scan call today from 209-631-2059 claiming to be from Windows. The man who is clearly from India stated that they have "been receiving error" messages from my computer. I let him talk for a while then I informed him that the call was being recorded by the Arizona Attorney General's office and that we were also tracing the call. He hung up right away.

Finally I got to use at least part of the script (on "Frank" from "Windows Technical Support" [seriously]) that I've had ready for months. After he's announced that my computer has been horribly infected, I begin with a tearful "Oh dear! how terrible!" and end by asking for the caller's mother's maiden name. Unfortunately, I took control of the conversation far too early, causing him to get snippy and hang up on me. I should have let him talk. I promise you all that I'll do better next time. "Call Type: Telemarketer" really doesn't do this category of call justice; how about a category called "Damnable Bottom Feeder"?

I got a call from this number claiming to be Microsoft, I kept him going for humor sake. Microsoft will never call you. He said I had a virus and needed to download some software. I said sure, maybe when and If I ever buy a Windows. But you don't have to call me to have me download a virus. They already come with them.I am on the do not call list so this scammer is smart. Where he gets his numbers I don't know. But never download anything without researching it first.

Got a call from this number from an individual with a heavy accent representing himself as a Microsoft employee. He told me I had problems with my computer and that he could fix it.

I received a call from this number at ten in the morning MST here in the Phoenix area. Person would not answer, after I said hello three times, but I could hear a clicking noise in the background, as if they were tapping the tip of a metal pen against the phone or a nearby table, The noise may have been generated by a machine, unclear. I finally hung up after a few seconds.

This problem originated when they made the American jobs credit act back in year 2000 and the irs sent all our tax record to INdia to save money $7 per hour vs $20 per hr. India has all our S.S numbers and addresses and phone numbers and birth dates and they like to target senior citizens. Report to inspector General. This is an invasion of our privacy. That is why identy theft is on the rise IMHO

This person said he was from Microsoft. I said prove it. He had all of my information. Name address zip code, all of it. Really nerve racking. I am a IT professional and knew this must be a scam. Microsoft will not call you to fix your computer for free, just a fact. They are a big business. My computer does not have a virus and is rarely used for ananything other than amazon shopping. Be smart and do not trust them!
