Caller ID displayed Merced. We answered and a man with a heavy accent told us he was with Microsoft and wanted to reboot our computer. I repeatedly told him that I didn't believe him and he argued the entire time until I said I would call them if we had a problem and hung up.

This number does not exist when I call it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wish they all would die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam called and said he was from Microsoft. He said that my computer was notifying them it was corrupted. I asked him for a number to call him back. He gave me 601-816-8608. I hung up.

PAD PAD ESPERANZ 209 631-2059A man with a middle eastern accent called and claimed to be from Microsoft. He said they are getting notifications of viruses on my computer. He said he didn't want to sell me anything and just wanted to show me the viruses - "see for yourself." He didn't get much further because I know he's full of it. I requested for them to put me on their do not call list and was told they weren't trying to sell me anything, just help me with viruses. BE CAREFUL! DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY PROGRAMS they instruct - if they do.

Verizon cell phone service allows unlimited blocking of these scammers/crooks. Good!Time Warner Cable phone does not, so more and more of these come through.Since the DNC list is a joke, the FCC needs to require that all phone companies allow unlimited blocking.What surprises me is how anybody falls for any of these scams. Yet they must to stay in business.

Same thing here, he stated he was from Microsoft and there were some files that were showing up as "registered events" and he would help me clean them up. When confronted, he said my name, and that he had my IP address.... what????? Anyway he was going to help me clean the file and when I would NOT give him ADMINISTRATIVE rights through team viewer.com, he hung up. Enough said!!!!!

Spam call, hang up.

I am an IT Pro. There is no way this is legitimate. Be warned. They are not from Microsoft. Fraud. Fraud. Fraud.

today (12/4) is first time (that I know of) where I've gotten this call from "Padpad Esperanz" about Microsoft. Man with heavy indian accent.

same story - Indian accent "we are from Microsoft and are experiencing a high volume of calls on the Windows servers with problems from a virus". I said we had no Windows products in the house - Apple only - "well, has anyone else used a computer on your in home internet?" blah, blah, trying to get me to go to my computer and give him access. Asked for a number to call back - he hung up abruptly.
