This number has appeared on my husbands phone bill nonstop since 11/24 but does not show up in his phone at all. It also shows up on my call log but only twice. It never showed up on my phone. I think it has something to do with a group message which he often has. The day it appeared on my call log I did have one group message. I haven't had one since to prove that theory. This number pops up when receiving a group text, not all group texts but some. Check the date when the text came in and then check your phone to see the text date and time and you'll see it was a group text.

To clear up your curiosity, simply ASK your husband WHAT HE has been "up to".

It is the default # for ATT when someone does a group message. Its a multi media default recorded number because there are multiple numbers in one text message. No one receiving message from this number is a cheater, nor are they using an app. So give your significant other a break!!!

I did how do you think I knew it didn't appear on his phone and only on the log. I did not view the log to spy on my husband or because I think he is cheating. I looked because my teenager is going over data. I happened to notice the texts. I asked my husband about it because we have been together all day and he hasn't gotten even a third of the texts that appear on the log from this number. We even called att together and they have no idea what it is. I googled it and came across this post because I was scared it was malwear. I thought I would share because it's truly odd. I am more concerned it is a virus or fraud, both can be costly $$$.

I believe they are cheating ..... That are on my husbands text just like all of you are asking. Always incoming in sets of 2 and up to 18 times about 2 min. Apart but there is another number besides the 288 # ALSO #141 010 0001 and can be at the end 2, and 3.......pron and xyz.....

I found out where this number is coming from! Aliens... It has to be! LOL!Its group messaging. I researched plenty to make sure so don't worry. But if you're insecure about calls check Spokeo.com. I have a subscription on there and have had it for a long time already. Whenever I see a number that I am not aware of I search it and I have caught my girlfriend texting her ex already for over a year. She said it was all a friendship blah blah blah and I told her to stop or we are done. I ended up tapping her phone... Months later all is well so far.... I'll keep you posted.
