I just got a call from this same number. Heavy Indian accent. Said he was from Microsoft Windows Tech Support and calling about my computer. I just laughed. He asked if I was the primary user and I said yes, but I wasn't interested in what he had to say and hung up.
I just got a call from "Mike" from Microsoft telling me my computer was rejecting Microsoft automatic updates and he wanted me to go to my computer, turn it on and we'd walk through the problem. Mike (Heavy Indian Accent): Hello, is dis Marcy ____________? Me: Yes.Mike: I'm from Microsoft and we notice your computer has not been updated in a while. With the viruses, we need to walk through fixing your computer.Me: You're from Microsoft? So am I! I'm in IT, and work out of my home. When did we start calling people about viruses? I didn't get that memo or the calling list. Who's your boss? I need to .........Mike: Hung up.......P.S. I don't work for Microsoft, but that got him off the line.
I just got the call from the Indian MS center. I could barely understand him but went along with him. Told him I was in front of the PC (I was), and went through responding what I saw when asked to get a "Run" prompt, but then I just kept saying, "Uh huh, okay" to each letter he wanted me to type and then when he asked me what came up on the screen, I told him it said I was a criminal justice major with an emphasis in electronic crimes (all true, by the way) and that he was trying to get info from my PC illegally and he wasn't from MS. We got into a cussing match and I hung up on him while referring to his ethnicity. I could tell he was really pissed with me. I loved it. I only hope no one really falls for this type of activity and compromises their PC, files, and worse, identity.
Just got a call from these morons. 288-918-6555. Guess he was having a bad day, because when I start laughing at him, he started a profane tirade. I told him to enjoy his third world hell hole and hung up.
Just got a call from a woman with an Indian accent. She asked for me by name, said she was from Microsoft Windows, and then told me she was calling about a problem with my computer. I told her that I didn't own a computer. Stopped her dead in her tracks. How can we stop these people? This is the second time I've had an incident with them. The last time it was a year ago.
FRIGGIN BOOGIES!!. What a disgusting bunch of morons. These Indians seem to be everywhere these days. Too bad we can't give them a virus.
Just received the same Microsoft scam call minutes ago.. But since I'm tired of these types of calls, I gave him a quick lesson in some English words not in his script. Ooops my bad.. :-)
April 15, 2013 3:26am the phone rings asking for my deceased mother. It was a gentleman with a heavy accent. I hung up the phone. I've seen this number before on my caller ID and never called it back. It's really sad the police or whomever handle these unknown stalkers can't be caught.
I have the same story as mostly everyone else here and it's happened twice in the past few months. Guy with a heavy Indian accent calling from "Windows Corporation" the first time. I guess they learned when I told them Windows is not a corporation because they called back today claiming to be from "Microsoft Support." I let him go on for a little just to hear the scam. He told me to turn on my computer. I asked him which one as everyone has their own. I couldn't stand his voice so I called him out on the scam, called him a f*@$ing terrorist and that I was reporting him to Homeland Security. He hung up.
