Just got a call from 1 288 918 6555 from a woman with a heavy Indian accent. She said she was fromMicrosoft and saying that they were getting reports that my computer was getting virus'. She said that she could help me with this. When I challenged her she got very angry and said 'look lady I'm just trying to help you with your computer'. I said I would call her back and please give me her number. She said it was a toll call and expensive. I said please give it to me anyway. She hung up on me.

OK, my wife just fell for the scam. What do I need to do now? She just called me and everything that was stated above happened and she did what the Indian guy said. I'm in a bit of a panic (not to mention angry). What do I need to do? Help!!

Dont think so. He has got your number from an internet site, possibly like delcome, somewhere where you have left your number. Got to me I have a privATE number

SAME SPIEL....................... THICK ACCENT TELLING ME THAT MY COMPUTER REPORTED A PROBLEM TO MICROSOFT AND HE WANTED TO TAKE CONTROL OF MY COMPUTER TO FIX A PROBLEM.I ASKED FOR A CALL BACK NUMBER AND HE GAVE ME 315-215-1186 HE COULD NOT TELL ME WHICH COMPUTER REPORTED A PROBLEM.I TOLD HE WAS NOT A VERY GOOD SCAMMER AND HUNG UP AND REPORTED IT TO THE ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE

bEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE THESE GUYS HAVE GOT PHONE NUMBERS FROM TELECOMMUNICATION SITE. SUCH AS TELSTRA

Just Got call from this number by guy with heavy India Accent, said he was from Microsoft Windows and needed me to go to my computer so he could help me delete some viruses. I told him nothing was wrong with my computer and he said "Ok you don't believe me" and hung up.

LOOKING AT ALL THE COMMENTS HERE IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS PERSON HAS GARNERED THESE NUMBERS FROM A TELE HELP CENTRE. MY NUMBER IS PRIVATE AND UNPUBLISHED. I BELIEVE THE ONLY ONLINE SITE THAT MAY HAVE MY NUMBER IS TO DO WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION IN HOTMAIL. VERY UNLIKELY TO HAVE BEEN ACCESSED HERE. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN OUTSOURCING INFORMATION TO OVERSEAS CENTRES.

GOT CALLED TODAY

Received a call on Saturday around 9:30 AM EST reference to a computer virus. Stated he was with Windows. I replied if this was an authorized Microsoft call and he confirmed. He asked for me to "step up to my computer to fix the problem". I started to laugh and asked him for his call back number. He then hung up. Lots of background noise with other people talking. Heavy accent. This is a scam!
