BTW I did make 2 purchases online that probably trigger this and ALWAYS call the # in the back of your CC to verify if the call was legit. Even though mines was legit, I know scammers out there are imitating BoA Fraud Protection Service #. Just my 2cents.
I've received two calls from 302-731-1166 this morning and no messages were left. This is annoying!
yes it is a call from bank of america froud department. call the number on the back of your bofam and they'll resolve the problem
I received a call from this number early this morning. Being of suspicious character, I did not make a selection to push #1 or #2 and just listened. Within 5 seconds, the caller hung up. I called BoA from a number found on their web site and found out that there was a suspicious charge on my account (which turned out to be legimite) that actuelly happened five minutes before the call. My wife had made an online purchase at that time. From what I can tell, this number was generated by the BoA fraud devision.
Yes this is related to BOA... I looked at my acct and there was a fraud charge, I called the number on the back of my card. their taking off the charge and sending me a new card... good job boa!
It is real! I did not answer and it was a weird voicemail it left on my phone. automated, did not say the name of the company. I googled this phone #, after I got a call from it tonight. I came to this site and read all your post. I indeed have a bank of america credit card. I checked my email, and there it was.a email from bank of america. so, i called the ph # on my card and sure enough, someone had tried to charge a flight. I am thankful for this.
Legit: Turns out this was B of A. The phone call is completely suspect so I called the customer service number on the back of my card and B of A confirmed it was their fraud detection attempting to contact me. Charges were my own, but they were just being cautious. I would NEVER give info to anyone calling you. Always call the number on your card because until I did I was sure this was some sort of scam.
If this company is legit, then why are they calling me telling me I have illegal transactions trying to go thru my card and I don't even have a Bank of America card. I only have a credit union debit card!
This is in fact B of A calling. I was called by the number and picked up about fraudulent charge on my BofA account. After going through the automated prompts to verify a charge, a computer generated voice stated a company I was not familiar with in which I was then connected to the female representative that spoke fluent English. After verifying 3 most recent purchases, the last being of $1 charged today from Mexico which I did not make, the other 2 being charges I verified on my online Bof A access as ones I did incur or valid charges, they cancelled my card and informed me I will receive a new card. To be safe, I called the number on the back of my credit card 5 minutes after hanging up with the representative that informed me my card would be cancelled and after following the prompts the automated system stating my account had been closed and thank you for calling. This is a legitimate call and after reading this thread is what prompted me to call the credit card 800 number on the back of the card. I'm confident I was not victim of a fishing scam from this number but I understand in today's society why everyone needs to be hypervigilent against theives posing as legitimate business
