Thank God for all these messages here!! I got calls from this number 302-731-1166 twice today. At first I thought it was a scam since it didn't leave any message the first call and a weird automated voice asked me if this was me from the second call. Luckily I checked online found this site and found out it is a legit number from "Bank of America" fraud prevention department. I checked my account right away and found out I became a fraud victim. I followed the steps online and also called to talk to their representive and cleared things right up. The thief made a lot purchases just yesterday and BOA informed me this morning. My cards are still with me but obviously the number is stolen. GO TO HELL, THIEF! AND THANK YOU BANK OF AMERICA!
Bank of America called from 302-731-1166 and left a message informing me that there were possible fradulent charges to my card. As I always do in such cases, I do not call the number that the message instructed me to call. Instead, I called the Customer Service number on the back of the credit card. They verified that the message was legitimate, and we determined that there were several fradulent charges to the card. The card was deactivated, and new ones issued.
I am note sure this is a real service or scam. They ask for your credit card number instantly. I was not convinced so I did not give it to them.
Received a call at 8:18 PDT, Sunday 03/22 which rang four times. By the time I got to the phone, the caller had hung up. I don't know if this is the result of being on the 'Do Not Call' list or if it is standard practice. But I get suspicious whenever I see anything I think is credit card related appear unrequested on my phone. I did a reverse number request on Google, and ended up here, which is why I am reporting the incident. The identification below is incomplete because I have a two line display on my phone, and all the second line could display was the 'CARD SERVICES F'
I also called the B of A number on the back of the card ... when I gave my account number,a representative came right on (what a relief not to go through the whole menu system !).It was the fraud department ... she said the 302-731-1166 is programmed not to leave messages. There was a suspicious charge on my account and they are issuing mea new card. I'm glad they are on top of this, especially since the charge was only for$72 ...
I had two calls from 302-731-1166 yesterday after 3pm and this morning before 8 a.m. I called it and reach a financial services rep but was unwilling to give my card number. the rep advised me to call the number on the back of the card and the call will be redirected to them if i am uncomfortable to give the info they want. i did just that only to learn that someone attempted to use the card for a $9.25 to a Maurice G Mineyard. I advised that the charge is NOT mine as the last time I used it was to pay for a cruise between and the last date associated with the card would have been 8/18. the card is now cancelled. THANK goodness for independent verification and for going with your gut feelings of following through while exercising wisdom.
I received two calls from this number on Sept 23rd and Sept 24th they didn't leave a message and I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. After going on this site I realized it must be B of A it was I called the number on the back of my card and was transferred to their fraud dept. I had 4 charges made on my card on the 23rd. They have cancelled my card and are issuing a new one.
Got a call from 302-731-1166 at 8:30AM this morning. The recorded message asked for the last 4 digits of my Social Security number. With all the credit card fraud going on these days, I hung up and immediately called the number on the back of my card. Sure enough, it was a legitimate Bank of America call from their Fraud Dep't. wanting to know if I made a large purchase yesterday from Amazon.com. Turns out my wife ordered something for our anniversary and it was a legitimate, but unusually large amount. Hats off to B of A for wanting to verify this purchase.
I got a call from this number earlier today (there was no message left). After checking here and seeing it was from BofA I called the number on the back of my card and talked with the reps about the recent charges to my card. They were able to verify my charges and make sure my account was freed up. I had purchased an iPhone from the Apple Store online as well as made an AT&T payment all in the course of a few hours early in the morning (1-5am), so I could understand their concern. I'm glad they were looking out for me.
