This IS Bank of America. Thank god for this message board or I wouldn't have known to call them to verify that my card had been used fraudulently. I made sure to use the number on the back of my card when I called back. I am grateful that they caught this but I wish they would have left a message telling me to call the number on my card, otherwise it seems kind of sketchy.
I was shopping online, and one of the transactions did not go through. The next morning, I received a call from this number (302-731-1166) but they did not leave a message. As advised on this site, I went to my BofA online account and saw that there was a fraud alert. I called the 1-800 number that was listed on the site, and an alert/hold had been placed on my account due to the suspicious charges. Fortunately, it was just my own shopping (at new vendors) that had caused the alert, but it was nice to know that they are looking out for their customers.
Received calls from this number, as well. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. Googled and found these postings. Checked my BOA CC account online and there was a fraud alert on the account. Called BOA and cancelled the card. They are reissuing. Thanks Everyone.
Baer, Jen is right: it is a legit outfit B of A (along with other companies) use to make notifications when fraudulent use of your credit card is suspected. They gave me the option of contacting the bank directly, as I didn't have all the info they wanted on my person when I called them. I called the B of A number on the back of my card, was told they use the company to make the notifications, and was able to clear everything up with Bof A in 5-10 minutes.
Yes. I also received a call from this number. I answered and an automated voice asked me to verify my name and last four digits of my card. Thinking it suspicious, I ended the call. However, I checked my online banking and saw that my account was blocked. I called BoA, and they stated that there were fraudulent charges made on my account. I then cancelled my card. Thank goodness for the steadfast work of this bank. However, the phone number and unusual call is not very credible at first - but it at least draws attention to notifying BoA.
This is not Bank Of America. It is another company that tracks fradulent activity on your card that could be any of Amex, Visa, Mastercard etc.You may confirm this by calling the credit cad company directly.Dont panic just seeing a number you dont recognize. Fear out, reasoning and action in.Thanks
Called Bank of America after checking here and I had fraudulent chareges on my Credit Card. Cleared it up in 5 minutes.
Got a call from this number, no message. Called my B of A number on the back of my card. Turned out there were a couple charges not made by me. My card was canceled on the spot.
This is a legit Bank of America Fraud Alerts number. Called back and confirmed three possible Fraud charges on my card. They did ask my for my account number and name but was able to inform me what card I had and the last three charges on my card (which a bogus caller would not have).
