I called the number on the back of my card and they did send out a new debit card to my daughter because she'd purchased at a place that had some debit card scam. She hadn't confirmed the new debit card, so they were just verifying because she was still purchasing on the old card. I'd say if you get a message from your bank or one of your credit cards, call the number on the back of your card. Discover has caught unauthorized charges several times for me in the past.
Oh, keep in mind that Caller IDs CAN be forged. You can't assume this is a legit call simply because this is the number you see on your own phone.Call BoA back yourself, direct, using a known/official phone number. And yes, thanks to the previous poster, I checked ... and this number was indeed on the back of my BoA debit card.
Getting unwanted calls from this number 315 724 4022. They say they are calling from bank of america and says that there is some unusual activity in my account. But i have encountered the same thing before so i know this is a scam call. I don't know how to block these calls. please help.
This was not a fraudulent call, in my case. Bank of America was calling me to let me know that they received my travel advisory and gave me legitimate BofA phone numbers to call if I experience fraud while traveling.
This is legit. I received an email from BOA saying my debit card could have possibly been part of a group of cards compromised by undisclosed merchants and they were sending me a new card and deactivating my current card. I was skeptical so I went into my branch and it was indeed true. They told me I would be receiving a follow up phone call remind me to activate my new card and to destroy the old card. That is the voice mail that was left from this phone #
IT IS A SCAM!!!! I recieved a call saying there was a hold on my account and they need to verify my identity. They ask for 4 digits of your social... I hung up and called BOA. BOA verified my account was fine and that it was fraud!!!! Don't ever give your social to anyone that you didn't call!
These are clown scam artists!! I DON"T HAVE a Bof A account!! I DESPICE Bank of America!!! LMAO!!! The Idea would be to get another number off of them that is their direct outlet like Dr. Phil did to those witches that were scamming people with his old number.. Stay awake folks!! And BofA SUCKS ROTTEN EGGS!! =)
I received 5 missed calls from this number all day today and when I called back I get a recorded message saying that my BofA account (that I don't have) has been froze due to recent suspicious activity and that if I am (recorded unknown name) I must enter my account number to speak with a representative to unfreeze my account???
