I just received a call from 315-724-4022 saying to be from BOA, I did not give any Info. I did call my bank and they told me there was no suspicious activity on my acct. I traced the number and it turns out to be an Operator for International collect calls, somewhere in New York. So do be carefull.

Same here my question is why are they calling me about SOMEONE ELSE's card......

This is not BS, this number is listed on the bottom of the BofA debit card.I thought it was fraud for a moment but then noticed this exact number listed on the bottom of my debit card for calling from outside the US. I'm glad I did a little extra looking instead of just believing the posts on here because someone over a thousand miles away tried using my card number for purchases today. BofA actually reversed the purchased already and just wanted to confirm they did the right thing. Just have to wait another 5 - 7 days for a new card.

The number appears to be legit. I tried to make a purchase online with my BofA card today and it was declined. I immediately got a call from this number to verify that it was really me attempting to make the purchase.

Bank of America fraud department they did not ask for my account number they went over three unusual charges and asked if these were approved by me which they all were so it's good to see they're looking out for us

Yes this number is for B of A. I checked my account through my online banking and there is a new # 1.877.833.5617. I also noticed a few of my most recent transactions were on hold.I called in through the regular 800 number any, just to be safe. The reason I got this call is because a merchant I used reported that they had a data breach and my card and personal info was part of that breach. The wouldnt or couldnt tell me who the merchant was...They wanted to verify purchases I had made to be sure they were correct. I did that and they let them go through.Then they cancelled my old card and reissued me a new one, with a different #.You would be best to just call or go into a branch. There may be nothing that has happened according to what a call center person can see, but when you speak with the fraud department they can see what is going on. You want to get set up on their free fraud protection as wll since your info was stolen.

Surely you all know that phone numbers are routinely spoofed, right. This is a legitimate number that scammers are programming their dialers to display. Everyone is right. It should be clear very quickly if the call is real.
