Legit call from Bank of America telling me to activate new debit card, which I received in mail yesterday after they emailed me last week.
bank of america recording
I didn't answer the call I received today from this number, because I didn't recognize it. No voice-mail was left. I get curious about the random numbers that pop up on my phone, so I came here to check it out. Usually, I find that these numbers are scammers, telemarketers, general scum.A lot of folks on this site have said that the call is from Bank of America. The number matches the one on the back of my BofA debit card, so the call is probably legit.I actually just received a new debit card from Bank of America, but hadn't activated it yet. They were probably calling to check on this. This is the second time in a year that they have replaced my card, due to a potential breech. They don't tell you who the merchant is, even when you call them about it. It is entirely possible that they flagged my account for unusual activity, as I recently purchased new computer equipment.
Despite what everyone is saying, this number is legit. I can see this number printed on the back of my BoA debit card, but it's listed as the number to call if you are currently outside the US.
I recieved a call from 315-724-4022. It went to voice mail. I was told to call 1-877-833-5617 due to fraud alert on my BOA debit card. I called the number and recording told be to punch my card number in. I hung up and called the BOA number off my card. I spoke with the fraud department and they said no issues. Dont respond to this number call directly to your bank.

Fraud charges on my credit card, reported to my bank and closed the credit card. There was a much larger charge pending, so hopefully that doesn't post.
