This is a well known scam. They want you to call back and give your card number. Call the legit 800 number on the back of your card and speak to BofA directly and they will confirm this is Fraud. And judging by all the posts here, it is a highly successful one.
I have had numerous calls from this number with a message that there had been a leak of personal information and they were cancelling my debit card and sending me a new one. Caller ID showed the number was Bank of America. After several days passed and I did not receive a new debit card I called the number and it was a disconnected number.I called Bank of America and they told me it was a SCAM that there was no problem with my card, no leak of personal information, and they had not notified me that they were sending a new card. They reported the call to their fraud department. The calls are continuing almost every day, somebody SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN!!!
This is NOT a scam call. 5 days ago I received an email from B of A saying they were cancelling our business debit card (due to unusual activity that I was unaware of) and were sending a new card to replace it. They said that I would be receiving a new one in the mail. This number, 315-724-4022 (Utica NY), called yesterday and left a message identifying themselves as B of A, and proceeded to relay the same information I received in the earlier email. Later in the day I received our new debit card.
Keep getting annoying calls from this number about my Bank of America Debit Account.Thing is i have never ever had an account with Bank of America.
This is true because when I log into my account online, I get a message as well stating a 'compromise' on the ATM/Debit card and I should be expecting a new card in the mail. I am still going to call anyway just to confirm.
13157244022 fake number call it back it says your overseas charges has been accepted leave me the Hell along.
I went to BofA this morning to make a withdrawal of $1000. The branch manager instructed that I should do two separate withdrawals for $500 each. The first one was fine, but on the second one I got an error receipt saying that I couldn't withdraw that much. I went into the bank and they checked my card, entered some data and then instructed that I try again. It still wouldn't go through, so they ended up having me do a regular withdrawal. During this time frame, I received a text from 35422 saying it was BofA confirming that I authorized these withdrawal attempts, as well as my last debit card purchase from almost a week ago. It said to reply "yes" if I recognized the withdrawal attempts, "no" if I didn't or "stop" to end text alerts. I replied "yes". During this same time frame, I had a missed call from 315-724-4022. I don't know if it was BofA for sure, but if it's not, it would be uncanny timing
These scam maggots keep calling my number. My wife answered my phone as I was busy. Bank of America left a message saying something about our credit card/debit card may have a security issue. We called a different legit BOA phone number to verify what the message said. The official at BOA said everything was fine and there was no security issue . The BOA official also said it was their number (315-724-4022) but someone not with BOA was fishing for information. Beware, it is scam!!! Never give out any information or you will regret it. I just blocked that number even though it is BOA.
