Yes, this is a legit Bank of America number. I called BofA directly from the number on the back of my card and confirmed with the one on the website. I talked to a BofA rep and the call from this NY number is an automated message to let me know they are sending me a new debit card because my current card was on a list from a retailer that was sent to BofA of potentially hacked numbers. Have had no issue with my card or bad charges, but glad they let me know a new one is on the way. So they are just making sure to let you know that your card is being replaced and current card deactivated to make sure no fraudulent charges happen.
Bank of America Fraud Prevention
It may or may not be legitimate, but the message I received was in reference to my B of A DEBIT card, and I haven't had one of those with that bank for 5 years. They said they are mailing me a new card and closing the old card number. It will be interesting if they follow through..
BOA new card notification
True. We get calls from somebody using our "own" number on the caller ID!! They call from a LapTop using any number they want. If they call you and you did NOT call them-Don't trust it.
they keep calling me in a foreign language and won't stop
Received call in Atlanta today, 4/14/15 at 1:38 pm. Didn't answer. Didn't call back. Went to the web and Googled it (as I do for all unknown numbers) and found multiple threads saying this was Bank of America. Then I found a bunch of posts saying it's a scam. I'd just received a snail mail letter on Friday saying a new card was being issued because of a breach of some sort. After reading the online posts claiming it was BOA, I logged into the online banking system to locate a number for reporting fraud to them. The moment I finished my login, a pop-up alert stated that my account may or may not have been attacked in some group of accounts at risk. It stated that I would recieve a new card in 5-8 business days. Just like the letter. It is Bank of America calling. But you don't have to trust this site, just log into online banking to be sure. You should get a message immediately about your cards being compromised.

Why is this number and extension #145 on my phone?????
Scam. An attempt to get bank account information and then a request to transfer money to the scammer's account.
I called Frontiers official phone number 1-800-921-8105, the agent I spoke to gave me this scammer number, they pretend to be frontier and offer a rebate and ask you to provide your bank account info to “send” the rebate. I hung up
Got a text from “SpeedX” from (844) 866-3737 stating that my delivery is on its way. It’s not clear what that is. I’m just a person not a company. It stayed to verify my address. Nope. The url seemed legit but didn’t click on it. Reverse ... read more
They got $14.95 from me for a product they were selling for $9.95 but the charge showed $14.95 on my credit card. I have never received anything yet.
It is a completely malicious number …. Seems to be pretty sophisticated and multiple carriers, bell, rogers, apple, google., telus, no one is willing to admit where the breach occurred and now cybersecurity experts need to get involved …. This ... read more
