I got this call (they left a voicemail) telling me my card was compromised and they were sending me a new one. Called the bank, via the number on the back of my card, and they said it was legit. Got the new debit card yesterday. This number is actually one of the numbers listed on my card as well, the "call from outside the US" number listed. I wouldn't give ANY personal info to ANYONE that calls you. EVER. Not even the last 4 of your social! Smarten up!
I've gotten 3 calls (shown as missed) today (Easter Sunday) and a couple days ago an email from what looked like legit BofA saying I had unusual activity. Anyone get email with the call?
BofA called me 3mins. after a fraudulent charge from this number, 315-724-4022 I was suspicious so I hung up and called back the reg number i use. And the lady I spoke with verified that someone did call me several mins earlier and they called from the 4022 number. So this is a BofA number. So I didn't change any passwords or anything and I haven't had any problems..........
They say it's Bank of America, calling to report unusual activity on my card...I don't even HAVE a BoA account! This is a scam, beware!!!
If you get a call from this number, hang up and call the bank number on the back of your card. Once you connect and enter your account information, it will tell you it is redirecting you to speak to a fraud analyst.
Phone Call Reporting "they say bank of america and i have unusual activity on my account " by name. Asked me to confirm that my names is (snipped). I hung up.
I got a call this morning around 8:30 a.m. which I didn't answer. I listened to the recorder and it say we had unusual activity on our account. My husband is in Germany this week so the call made perfect sense. When I talked to a representative she asked me only for my last 4 digits of my S.S. number. Then she read off 4 or 5 charges on my bank account which were local charges. So she had access to my bank charges! She said when my husband tried to use the card, it probably raised a red flag with the bank. I JUST CALLED BANK OF AMERICA FROM THE BACK OF MY CREDIT CARD AND THIS IS ONE OF THEIR NUMBERS - WHEW!
You totally suck. Bank of America's extension is /contactus. You are also part of this scam and there is no 877 number of any kind like this on their site. My daughter just got this text and was concerned and almost called but luckily had the sense to ask me first and we googled these numbers and went on the BofA site. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Any one else, NEVER CLICK OR ANSWER ANYTHING YOU GET EMAILED OR TEXTED. If you're concerned, go directly to whatever site it is that supposedly sent it to you and you'll know if it's real or not.
It is not a scam. CALL THEM BACK. I got a call from this number. They left a voice msg saying its BOA fraud protection. I also got text msg from the bank saying the same thing, AND an email confirming that it is really the bank calling me. I called back to the number they left at my voice msg, talked to a representative and we worked it all out. I got all that and a number of calls from this number in a few hours. I was very pleased from the fact that the bank looked so hard for me to make sure no one is stealing my money!
