I received a phone call from this number this afternoon. I did not answer it nor did they leave a message. after reading some comments, I called BOA and asked if it was legit. she said she didn't see anything wrong with my account, however they did send me a new card because my old one may have been compromised. she said someone may have been calling regarding the new card, but other then that she doesn't see any problems. So im not sure if it is a scam or not. it probably is and it was just a coincidence that I had something going on.
Legit. As others said, it comes from Bank of America when suspicious activity has been attempted on your account. It is just an fyi call. Contact your bank directly to check on possible illegal activity.
100% legit. Call the # on the back of your card and Bank of America will confirm. The # in the post is listed on the back of my card for calls outside the u.s.
I received a call from this phone number today, and they did not leave a message. I called Bank of America fraud department to double check whether it came from them. The representative told me that this call did not come from them. It looks like a phishing call.
I just received a call and voicemail from this number and it was legitimately BofA. Although some spammers may be spoofing this number and pretending to be the bank, my experience was that it was legitimate. They had recently sent me a new debit card to replace my current one because they think that my account or card may have been compromised at a merchant/retailer. They gave me a few weeks within which I can activate that new card. The voicemail indicated to me that they sent out this card and that I need to activate it before I experience a disruption in payments that are based on this account.Again, my experience was legitimate. If yours was not, that is understandable given how spammers work. You should always call the number on the back of your card and speak directly with BofA and ensure that they contacted you.
Had a missed call from this number, no message was left. When I called them back it sounded like the Bank of America fraud line, I didn't really think it was legit so I didn't give any of my information. I then called the number on the back of my Bank of America card and they confirmed that there was absolutely no fraud on my bank card. The 315 number sounded incredibly legit with hold music and the usual Bank of America song in the background. It appears to be a very well-done scam to make people think that they are receiving a legitimate fraud alert from Bank of America, when really they're just giving away their information. I alerted the Bank of America folks on the number I reached on the back of my card. According to the legitimate Bank of America site any phone calls originating from this 315 number are fraudulent and is an example of Phising. Basically if you get a call from this number don't return the call and don't give them any information. Instead, use the numbers on the back of your card and dial them manually. In most cases there won't be any fraud on your card and you can just go about your day normally.
Definate SCAM.. B oaA does not have mt home non published phone number. Suspicion occurred right away as a result of this fact. Also I could not figure why the "out of country" contact number would be calling me. I took theproblemto B of A and talked to a personnel banking specialist ( Hector), who confirmed that this is a SCAM. Do not give anyone at this number any data about yourself or your accounts. The absolute best thing you can do is to ask ant person initiating the call to identify you by name. If they do notknowwho you are they are obviously scammers.
